If you’re looking for a place to ruin your appetite, Hector’s is the perfect choice. The food here is nothing short of an abomination.
To start, the atmosphere was from “fine dining.” The decor was tacky and outdated, with a thick layer of dust on every surface, suggesting a severe lack of cleanliness.
The service was abysmal at best. Our server was inattentive, disappearing for long stretches and showing a complete lack of interest in our table. It took an unacceptable amount of time to place a drink order. When our drinks finally arrived, they were poorly made and tasted like dishwater.
The food was an absolute atrocity. For a restaurant touting itself as "fine dining," the quality was shockingly low. My steak, which I ordered medium-rare, arrived charred on the outside and completely raw in the middle—an impressive feat of incompetence. It was tough, flavorless, and impossible to chew. My partner's seafood pasta was a soggy mess, with overcooked noodles swimming in a watery, tasteless sauce. The shrimp were rubbery and clearly not fresh, likely defrosted minutes before hitting the plate.
The sides were uninspired, tasteless, and clearly reheated from frozen. Even the desserts couldn’t redeem this meal. The cheesecake was dense and dry, more like a brick than a dessert.
Every dish at Hector’s felt like a culinary disaster. To add insult to injury, the prices were outrageous. For the level of quality and service, Hector’s charges a premium that is entirely unjustified. This meal was a blatant rip-off, leaving us feeling swindled and deeply disappointed. The lack of quality, freshness, and basic cooking skills was shocking for a place with such high prices.
Save yourself the disappointment and find a restaurant that actually knows how to prepare a...
Read moreI was there 7/2922, had a horrible experience, mind you, I was there a long time ago, great experience, we all ordered drinks, waiter came back asking what was in the drink, I handed him the specialty list on the tableand said its here lol, that was at 6:10 at 7:25,I still had no drink, no one had meals, everyone had drinks,we had a show at 8pm, I said to the waiter I never received my drink, please take it off my bill, he said to me, well they are making so its coming whether you want it or not, then says.. don't you want it with your meal, I said no it won't go with it, he said well what are you going to drink with your food, I said water, my friends husband said he would take the drink put it on his bill, because the kid was going to bring it to me then pour it down the sink if I didn't take it, I ordered the Chicken quesadella appetizer, which was horrible you couldn't share, came in the plate in a clump!! Not toasted or grilled or spread on plate individual, everyone said they wouldn't go back, 14 of us, others had issues of not even getting their meal and it was now 8p. Some things yes are out of the control of the server, but others things whether the drink was being made or not, by the time that drink did come, no way it had already been made . And it was missing stuff and waiter laughed and...
Read moreI got a burger and I really enjoyed it. It was just a normal cheeseburger, nothing special. They cooked it exactly as I asked. My friends all got sandwiches and were surprised when they were basically what your mom would make. In example, one sandwich was on normal, basic white bread and another was on that mixed rye and pumpernickel pepperidge farm bread. I actually buy that bread from the market and it most definitely was the same and even the brand. They complained about the simplicity of it, which is one reason why I took a couple stars off. But I argued, they ordered simple sandwiches and that's what they got. They said they were good, just when you pay at a restaurant you expect something more than what you'd make at home. The other reason I took off a few stars is the dining area is dated and a little icky feeling with the plastic tablecloths. I would probably go back again, but just for a burger and I would definitely sit in the bar side. The dining room seems like a cafeteria at an nicer...
