Extremely disappointed with my experience here.. my husband and I shop at Belk all the time. I received some perfume for Christmas in which of course I do not have a receipt for. I called the Carrollton Belk and they had no problem letting me return for the lowest price without a receipt OR an exchange for the same brand, same size, different scent. Unfortunately they did not carry the size I needed in order to exchange. No big deal. I would just hold on to it and check back. We're in Lagrange visiting friends so we decided to go to Belk at the mall. I look in the fragrance section and there is the size I need in order to exchange. I stand at the counter while the lady is busy looking at herself in the mirror ignoring the fact I'm standing there waiting. When she finally ask can she help I can immediately tell she isn't the friendliest person. I tell her the situation in which she tells me there is NOTHING she can do without a receipt. So I walk away thinking how can Carrollton and Lagrange Belk have two different return policies. So I ask a manager. He calls to the fragrance department tells her exactly what I told her. He gets off the phone and says I can exchange it. I head back to the fragrance counter where you can tell she has an attitude when she sees me and proceeds to tell me I can't return or exchange without a receipt. I explain what Carrollton told me and with an attitude she tells me I need proof of purchase. We also mentioned the manager just talked to her and said we could exchange, she says he doesn't know what he's talking about. My husband then tells her he'll just buy me the perfume. TWICE he told her to get the perfume for him to buy and she didn't budge. I tell him not to worry about it I'll text my friend that purchased the perfume for me and see if she still has the email where she bought it online. I then see her give a smug look to the girl she works with. I could tell at this point there was no reason to try and discuss this further so we left. I googled Belks return policy only to see exactly what Carrollton offered me that this lady at Lagrange Belk didn't even offer. I only wish I would have gotten her name because she needs to work on her customer service skills and attitude. Will not return to this...
Read moreI visited the Belk store in Lagrange to purchase some makeup. I waited for fifteen minutes at the makeup counter after looking for an associate to help me at all four counters there was no one to help me so I started helping myself with a free sample of my makeup until I could come in the next day to purchase a bottle because they were about to close. So a woman approached the makeup counter beside me and I asked her if she worked there and could help me and explained I wanted to purchase some makeup but didn't see anyone so I was going to get a sample. Well she started screaming at me telling me I better be glad a loss prevention associate didn't see me because I was stealing and they would take me in. She scared my ten year old so bad she was shaking and crying. She was so rude and unprofessional arguing with me, throwing things, slamming things. I have never been so embarrassed or treated so terrible in my life. I spoke with the store manager and he apologized for my experience but the worker's name was Lou Anderson and if you could I wish you could pull the security camera to see how she talked to me and treated me. It was uncalled for and very unprofessional. I will not be back in that store after the way she made me feel and scared my...
Read moreThey were having a pretty good sale going on in the bedding department. Unfortunately, there was not a single salesperson to be found anywhere on that side of the store! Although all sizes of bedding were included on the sale's sign, the only sizes of bedding that were actually on the sales floor to purchase we're King and queen. I literally searched through every stitch for a full sized and a twin sized set, and could not find a one. During the time I was there, I was approached by three different customers, asking me for help, because they couldn't find a store employee, either! I finally selected a queen sized comforter set, and the accessories (to put on my full sized guest bed), but the only register that was actually open was on the other side of the store, in the Juniors department, and the line was so long, it was snaking around the department, through the clothing racks! That was a $300+ sale that Belks lost ... Not to mention several others, who were also leaving the store for the same reasons! I don't know what was going on there, but if that is how they regularly do business, I don't know how...
