Oh dear. Another rubbish Orlando restaurant. Its promoted as fine dine pizza but its another wipe clean & hard service fast turn over eatery. Cut to the chase & our food was atrocious & the bill was an ego trip of a chef & business in denial about their qualitys. We came here to celebrate my partners birthday, with family who are residents.A 2wk holiday for us, we had endured so much terrible U.S food & had hi hopes. But no. 1st the good. The server was not an obsequious annoyance( take note PF Chang), and clearly on this early doors Sunday eve ,there were staffing issues. Our server was really working to sort the problems of slower males imho. And thats it, no good stuff from here. The atmosphere is much like the big D outside.Way too loud with levels of competitive noise polution. A massive barn with zero sound absorption. Every sibilance, plate clatter, cutlery ting boucing everywhere but not away from us. It set no mood for comfort , and raised this guests stress . & it wasnt so busy! Eats. All Wolfee had to do was get the worlds No1 comfort food right and on time. Alas the ego did not live up to the hype. I think i ordered a pepperoni pizza. I received yesterdays salt explosion special. Oh dear. In fairness ,the base wasnt that salty. i could tell from large area of topping less desert around the edges. And it wasnt no tasty dough either. Toms were where you ? so little sign of umami rich special chef sauce .STOP , sorry thats me dreaming of pizza back home. Dry dry , and awful was Mr Pucks offering. A smear of redness, a bucket of white salty melted gloop, and thin translucent discs. id like to tell you about peperoni but non was present. Just strange candy red translucent discs , as if silicone could be flavoured and sliced as thin as wrapping paper. Great salty lake taste if you like that and nothing else. This was brought to attention of the server & replacement offered. i declined. Well ,i was in a group with youngster's needing bed , and there really wasnt the time for 2nd chance. & Wolfie should have got it right 1st time. They cost an awful lot of money & all i wanted was a top quality instead basement clearance. We left, and no one celebrated the meal. No one said how they never had it so good, or even that whatever was on the table made the day special. Just wasnt so. Sad abit for us. Sadder still for the staff working hard....
Read moreHad an amazing meal here! For context, we are big foodies and have been wanting to dine at Wolfgang though this was our first time.
We ordered the bruschetta, Tagliatelle, iberico Pork special, the chocolate pineapple mousse, and carrot cake. The iberico Pork was the most impressive - it was perfectly cooked and had a nice sear but where it really sang was when you got it all together with the black eyed peas puree, roasted peppers, and the bacon fried rice. Every ingredient in the plate added a new dimension to the bite - it had acid, heat, fat and salt in every bite. Can't recommend this enough we were blown away!
The tagliatelle had more depth of flavor than most. It was creamy from the pecorino cheese but still had the tomato beef bolognaise taste that made it taste familiar but well executed.
The bruschetta is where my husband and I differed. He felt every ingredient added a positive note to the dish but I found the pesto not needed and the tomatoes diced in rather large pieces made it slightly more challenging to eat. Also I prefer more crunch in my bite of the ciabatta toast. That said I wouldn't be opposed to ordering again, it just didn't impress me as much as the entrees!
As for dessert, the chocolate pineapple mousse was structurally beautiful and fun to eat. The heat from the aleppo spice was subtle and didn't overpower in any way. That said, the carrot cake is where it's at. For someone that doesn't typically go for a carrot cake, this made me think twice. The cake is more of a super moist and soft fall spice cake with an equally light cream cheese frosting. With the crunch of the walnuts, it was hard to stop eating. Highly recommend and will get again!
Waiter Jared went above and beyond in his service to us. He really flexed his knowledge of food to pickup on flavor profiles important to us and gave perfect recommendations! Cannot thank him enough and we will be requesting him again next time we visit!
Also shout-out to chef Michael Vita who not only blew my mind but made me speechless after meeting him! In the presence of...
Read moreThe food was average. I would not say great .The crab cake app was the smallest crab cakes ive ever seen. The crab cakes were full of crab and not fillers and the flavor was on point. Calamari was great but were all rings and the red sauce it was served with was way too salty. Aioli was good though. If you want anything other than water be prepared to pay 9$ for a lemonade and 14 $ for a draft beer. My daughter had a glass of house wine run her 17$. The margherita pizza was just a cheese pizza with added mozz balls over the base cheese topping, kind of strange. The Nashville chicken sandwich was very good as was the wedge salad. The restaurant decor was beautiful. The waiter was horrible. We got our apps before our drinks. We reminded him we still didn't have drinks. He then rushed to get them and then upon return stated our food was on its way but we hadn't even ordered yet!! We reminded him we still needed to place our food order and He apologized and made some excuses about being distracted with another table. From what i could tell he had three tables and one was in "ready for the check" status He then came back and said he was giving our table up. The second waitress was great but didn't do much except bring the check because someone else brought our food and she was the one we had to tip so it was hard to tip based on service at that point. All in all i understand its upscale dining (knew before I walked in the door) and the price reflects that which i have no issue with obviously as i made the reservation but you should probably hire better staff and the food should reflect the upscale nature of the restaurant. We had lunch for three people and after tip it was over 170$. It was something we could have gotten elsewhere for half the price and most likely with better service. With ALL the options to eat as Disney springs i would not waste...
