I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Chicken Guy, and my taste buds are still dancing with joy! From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a treat. The Chicken Guy has truly mastered the art of creating mouthwatering chicken dishes, an impressive range of sauces, and the most decadent loaded mac and cheese I've ever tasted. Without a doubt, they deserve a well-deserved 5-star review!
Let's start with the star of the show—the chicken fingers. Oh boy, they were simply divine! Each bite was an explosion of flavor, with their crispy exterior giving way to tender and juicy chicken inside. The quality of the chicken was outstanding, and the breading was seasoned to perfection. The Chicken Guy certainly knows how to make chicken fingers that are unrivaled in taste and texture.
Now, let's talk about the sauces. The Chicken Guy takes pride in their extensive selection of sauces, and rightly so. From classic favorites to unique and innovative creations, there's a sauce to suit every palate. Tangy, sweet, spicy, or savory—you name it, they have it! The sauces perfectly complemented the chicken fingers, elevating each bite to a whole new level. It was a flavor adventure I won't soon forget.
But wait, there's more! The loaded mac and cheese deserves a special mention of its own. Creamy, cheesy, and downright indulgent, it was a symphony of flavors. The macaroni was cooked to perfection, and the cheese sauce was rich and velvety. Topped with crispy bacon bits, scallions, and a sprinkle of love, it was the ultimate comfort food. The portion size was generous, and each bite left me craving for more.
The Chicken Guy is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets. With their incredible range of sauces, finger-licking chicken fingers, and the unforgettable loaded mac and cheese, they have truly mastered the art of creating a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a chicken lover or simply appreciate good food, a visit to The Chicken Guy is an absolute must. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreI recently dined at Chicken Guy, the bustling eatery in Disney Springs owned by the famous TV food personality, Guy Fieri. The restaurant certainly has its highlights, along with a few areas that could use improvement.
Let’s start with the positives. The sauces at Chicken Guy are a standout feature. Each one is homemade and offers a unique flavor profile, elevating the overall taste of the meal. Additionally, the fries were fantastic - crispy, well-seasoned, and a perfect complement to the chicken.
Speaking of the chicken, while the tenders were good, they didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I anticipated them to be exceptionally fresh and tender, considering Guy Fieri’s reputation, but they fell a bit short in that aspect.
The ambiance of the place is lively and energetic, typical of a popular spot in Disney Springs. However, this also meant that finding a place to sit was a bit of a challenge, especially during peak hours. It added a layer of hecticness to the dining experience.
One procedural aspect that stood out was the requirement to show a receipt if there was an issue with the order. While I understand the need for such a policy, it did seem a bit rigid, especially in a fast-paced environment where minor order mistakes can happen, especially for a 10 person order.
The restaurant is designed to move people through quickly, which is appreciated in a busy place like Disney Springs. The multiple soda fountains were a thoughtful touch, helping to avoid long lines for drinks.
In terms of value, Chicken Guy offers a decent meal for the price, especially considering its location in a prime tourist area. My only wish is that the chicken tenders themselves were a bit more tender and fresh, which would have made the meal perfect.
Overall, Chicken Guy is a solid choice for a quick and tasty meal in Disney Springs. The homemade sauces and great fries are the highlights, and with a few tweaks to the chicken preparation, it could be an even more enjoyable...
Read moreAs far as I'm concerned, any review before December 2023 is absolutely meaningless. There used to be TWENTY TWO sauces on the menu. For no reason whatsoever, in December, the sauces were reduced to TWELVE. The only two "spicy" sauces left are chipotle ranch and Nashville hot honey, but these will barely make your lips tingle. There also used to be three salads, and now there is only one option. The salad is perfectly fine unless you don't like slaw, chickpeas, peppers, cheese, bacon, tomato, or red onion. You can have these removed, but you have to ask for each to be removed individually, and it's very cumbersome for both the customer and cashier. The "special" seasoning on the fries tastes like Lay's barbecue seasoning.
The main issue is that the restaurant itself was never built for the inevitable crowds in its prime, central location in Disney Springs. The indoor and outdoor seating are always completely filled at lunch and dinner time. The indoor area is extremely cramped. They get so busy that they leave wipes on the trash containers so that you have to clean your table yourself. We last visited on a very rainy evening. We walked around inside for nearly five minutes looking for an open seat, as inside was the only option. We realized after getting our food that we weren't given an option for dine-in or takeaway. They were giving everyone takeaway, presumably because they knew there wasn't anywhere for their patrons to sit.
The only reason my review isn't one star is because the mac and cheese...
