Went to Chili's in Lake Charles, La on May 5, 2022 at 5:34 pm with my sister and our sons. Was seated and waited on by Colleen, that took our appetizer order, drink order and out kids order. My sister and myself was still looking at the menu, Colleen left and proceeded to fix drinks behind the bar. We had to flag her down behind the bar to come and even take our order 20 minutes later. She came and finally took our order and I asked for my drink that I never received once again, when I initially ordered it when we arrived. Once the appetizer arrived the eggs rolls was cold, which I overlooked. Our sons food finally came out after 30 minutes, which my son had mac and cheese and fries, the Mac and cheese was dried out and had something black on it. Colleen never came back to our table the rest of the time we were there, she proceeded to ignore our table and the table behind us. She stayed behind the bar entertaining coworkers that I assumed to be off the clock.
After a hour of waiting we still didn't receive any service at our table nor our food. My sister had to flag down Caleb who was another waiter standing at the bar conversating with Colleen behind the bar who was supposed to be waiting on our table in the first place for a refill on her drink. Caleb asked with an attitude like my sister was bothering him what kind of drink she had, came and threw the drink on the table. We asked for the manager, who showed up 10 minutes later, his name is Jeremy, to tell him about the situation, he didn't apologize for anything, but proceeded to bring our checks. I ended up not even wanting my food, which never arrived in the first place.
We asked for the corporate number, but instead he gave us an employee relations number. We had to call that number to get the real cooperate number. As being apart of the service industry for 15 years and management for 8 years, this was completely unacceptable. Not one time did we get an apology or how the service could be corrected, but only got she was busy. That's unacceptable, you don't handle business like this, it is completely unacceptable all the way around. I don't care how busy you are. I understand people have bad days, but for the waiter to completely ignore us and the table behind us was unacceptable. The restaurant floors were beyond nasty. It's understandable if it was a busy day, but an occasional sweep while you can doesnāt hurt. Iāve seen other places do it and Im thankful for the cleanliness. The host who sat us down with the menus didnāt offer a veterans menu, given it was Veterans Day. We waited for 10 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink orders, we went ahead and ordered the meal at the same time.
Here is my NUMBER ONE ISSUE, a separate waitress brought out two drinks & two meals. I watched her set the two drinks down at the top of a booth & deliver the meals to a couple. While leaving the drinks UNATTENDED, she proceeded to move, acknowledge a couple waiting to be seated, then went to the kitchen. It was then she came back out, retrieved our drinks & handed them to us. Why did I not say anything at the time? BC I was watching the drinks the entire time. IF it was busy, I would have bc someone could have EASILY SLIPPED SOMETHING INTO THE DRINKS. She would have never known, nor would we⦠Being said, since I watched the drinks I felt like there was no need to ask for new drinks bc we didnāt receive our meal yet. I firmly believe in not pissing the staff off until you receive your meal.
We ordered a bacon burger⦠which arrived w/out the bacon. We asked the waitress about the bacon. She proceeded to take the entire tray back, coming back with it in 2 minutes stating they were out of bacon.. Here is an issue, why didnāt the cooks inform the waitress they were out of bacon knowingly the order came through as a bacon burger instead of trying to pass it off? Next I feel like the waitress should have left the tray, went to the back & came out with a separate plate of bacon (if they had any). I donāt trust any restaurant to take my plate in the back (ever seen the movie "Waiting..." LOL). I feel like the waitress should have offered a substitute, or if there is something else they could make instead. I visited this place and I ordered the fajitas for 2 with chicken and beef and let me tell you what a truck driver transport food across this country, I have never in my entire 23 years of Trucking experienced raw undercooked chicken of this magnitude. I reached out to Chilli over the phone the night of my order Was unable to get a response. Iām assuming it was closing time and then following morning and I believe I spoke with Leanne or whatever her name was. The attitude was very nasty from the rip if a customer comes back in with some undercooked food the main thing as a manager or any type of food service employee is you should listen to a customer concern this manager on duty, didnāt even care to listen to my concern. She was more infatuated with trying to correct me as a customer of how they cook the food when the food shouldāve never left the grill that patronized plenty around the country, but this is definitely not patronizing not only did the quality of the food from the kitchen suck but the management during the daytime, extremely rude nasty and didnāt even care or have a concern whether or not this meal could have me and my family so therefore we left and went to steamboat bills I was able to enjoy real with real hospitality and real service and as long as you guys have this comment removed, Iāll keep putting it back over and over and over again no one should ever be subjected to this type of customer service or raw and undercooked food if there was a possibility to give negative I would give as many as possible because customer service is what sells doesnāt matter what it is when you have poor customer service coupled with uncooked raw food and a manager that does not care to hear a customer concern or complainCharles and (Louisiana) do not patronize...
