Cliffside Resort & Suites — Hotel in Lake Delton

The location is beautiful and the hotel itself is fairly nice however, the two main issues were the owner (I am assuming) and the rooms. Let's deal with the rooms first. Outdated. The carpet was dirty. The room smelled musty and certain things in the room needed attention. Second, the owner...an elderly woman who appeared to run everything in the hotel. When we checked-in most hotels take a credit card for a deposit and then upon check-out bill the card. This hotel charges you immediately. She never told me that. When I informed her I would be paying with a different card upon check-out she said I already billed your card. I said I need you to reverse the charges so I can pay with a different card. She didn't know how to do that. So I had to wait till late that evening (10pm) when apparently her son came in who knew how to do it. Upon check-out I informed her of some things in the room that need attention for her benefit. The toilet was broken and the fridge wasn't working.....instead of thanking me for letting her know so they can get fixed she seemed very upset at me for telling her about them then and not when I discovered them. As if I am going to come to the front office at 12-1am to let her know. I told her I was letting her know for her benefit so they can fixed for the next customer. She got angrier at me because I didn't let her know sooner. I told her that getting angry at customers for being nice and informative isn't a good way to create repeat business. She didn't seem to care only that I didn't let her know sooner. Obviously I walked out mad. The hotel is located in a prime beautiful spot. A lot of the grounds are well kept and clean. However, other parts need attention and it appears from what I could see with interactions between mom and son that those things may not get done because mom wants things done her way. No towels at the pool and no towels anywhere else to use at the pool. Most of the games in the game room weren't working. The electronic card doors wouldn't read the cards so getting into the building to get into our room was time consuming. If I was in the area again I probably wouldn't pick his property. It's sad because with some minor improvements this place could be a real gem to get away too in that area away from the tourism yet only minutes away...

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! When you pull in, the hotel is small and welcoming, the grounds meticulous kept, and very clean. The outdoor pool is wonderful, large enough that you aren't bumping into people and there is the cutest waterslide. There is a hot tub next to the pool. The VIEWS!! The hotel overlooks Lake Delton and from the pool deck, you can watch the boaters and just enjoy the peaceful view. The game room was small but kept our 9 year old entertained with foosball and pool and a few arcade games. The indoor pool was just as nice, large enough to not be crowded and again, a small waterslide. There is also a hot tub and sauna located inside. Our room was on the second floor and we had an awesome view of the lake and pool area. Our room was super clean and bigger than what I would have imagined. We had the standard queen suite and there was plenty of room with a separate sink area and a small table. The deck was large enough for three of us to sit outside. There are two separate staircases that will get you down to the lake, complete with fishing piers and the ability to jump right off into the lake! There is a tiny sand area, and plenty of picnic tables and chairs to sit lakeside. At night, we sat by the fire pit a(we saw 4-5 fire pits on the property) and roasted marshmallows! We did not grill while we were there, but there were several gas grills that others guests were using, and a complete bar/kitchen area that guests can reserve for a party. The hotel was at capacity while we were there and it never felt crowded. The pool deck has a ton of chairs/tables/loungers that we never had to fight for a spot at the pool. The pool deck is also separated and another large pool deck was right outside the indoor pool. We brought our bikes and we found it's very easy to bike ride around the area, with a few restaurants that were in walking/biking distance. There are two vending machines on the property (chips, candy,pop) but make sure you bring plenty of snacks, there is a microwave and small fridge in the room. this is our first time visiting here and we can't wait to return next year!! Hi everyone!!! Let me just start off by saying that I've been coming to the Dells since I was a small child, I just turned 38 on October 6th. My boyfriend I have been coming to the Dells at least twice a year, if not more!!! We usually stay at a different hotel. However, the last time we drove around I saw Cliffside and wanted to make sure that I looked it up because of the beautiful lake and it looked gorgeous from the outside!!!!! Also, you could literally watch the Tommy Bartlett show from your balcony!! Well, my lovely boyfriend wanted to take me back to the Dells for my birthday weekend and of course I wanted to stay here! It was literally the best weekend of my life! We had a Lakeside room....even though the weather wasn't the best, Cliffside Resort just makes you feel so good inside and we just had a blast exploring the hotel and living our best life!!!!! With that being said, we went back already last weekend and it's been less than a month since we've been there last!!!! Lol 😋 The owners are complete sweethearts.....including the owner's son, Mark!! He always helps me when I call him and is very detailed about what's going on at the hotel or even in downtown Wisconsin Dells!!! I told my family about this hotel and we hope to come back in the summer so we could see the Tommy Bartlett show from our balcony!!! 🤞🙏 Fingers and toes crossed! I would highly highly recommend this hotel! Not only are the prices fabulous, they have delicious coffee in the office, they also have Jacuzzi rooms, you feel at home and everyone was sooooo amazing!!! My heart has never been happier when I'm at this hotel!! Best hotel that I've ever been to in the Dells and I've been to many!!!! And remember, I've been coming here since I was little.
