This isn’t about the food, this is about being bold face to face lying. I answered an ad on Indeed for Chili’s, they were looking for servers and I applied and set an appointment for the interview for the next available time slot of Monday. I get to my interview on time and the manager said give him a moment, no big deal….at first. While I waited two other applicants walked in. The interview times were set per half hour so that shows I was there for quite a while waiting. What happened next was kinda odd with the manager gathering all 3 of us to do an interview at the same time yet separately sitting next to each other. Again, I was not worried because I was prepared for my interview. I was dressed for success (an 80’s and 90’s interview hack), shirt, tie, slacks, and restaurant style non slip shoes. I had my resume at the ready and my professional binder to write notes about the key points in the interview. The other two applicants were not as nearly presentable. The interview was straight out of a copy paste set of questions that were easily answered as well as the tell me about yourself where I went to inform the interviewer what my former employment opportunities instilled into me that would benefit the company. I was asked if I had any questions, of course I did. I was only able to ask one question about “his” management style then he pivoted into the perks of the job and benefits. I was writing the important information down so I could remember at a later date and I wanted the manager to see I was down right serious about a job. At the end on My (group) interview the manager said we are going to have an orientation in a couple days and he would love to get me in and would call that day of the next. In my world that is a pretty good indication that I made it since the corporate typical response of “we have many applicants to interview and we will get back to you in a couple days. The interview was a Monday morning and I did wait until Wednesday to follow up. The host let me know the “Hiring Manager” would not be in until 4pm so I waited until 4:15 out of professional courtesy so they had a few minutes to get settled into their shift. At 4:15 I talked with another host and was told the manager was in an orientation. So I left my name and number because I thought maybe my application and resume maybe got mixed up somewhere. I waited for a phone call for a yes come in or no, we went another direction. That would have at least been professional. I never received the call back and I called a couple more times asking for my interviewer with no response.
The moral of my post is don’t give someone hope when they need work when you aren’t planning to move forward. I was interviewing Chili’s as well and I am very happy they didn’t hire me. Just another corporation trying to push out mom and pop...
Read moreI really like Chili's and usually no big issues. Food was okay. We were welcomed in at the front even though it was rainy and the floors and rugs were very wet. While eating, we saw paramedics go through twice with a stretcher but no one said why and we did not ask since it was not any of our business. When we went to leave, we were stopped at the hostess station by the front door and told we couldn't exit that way. We were then told to walk on the wet/damp floors all the way to the back room and go out the side door. In the rain, in a parking lot road with no sidewalks, through the standing water to where sidewalks began, and to the front disabled parking space. This was a major issue as I had someone parked in the disabled parking by the front door because they had walking issues and were unsteady on their feet. Chilis offered no apology, no concern, no forewarning, nothing. This put the person I was with at risk. Instead of speaking with corporate, I did speak with the manger on duty and told him I was not calling for any compensation, just so he could find a better solution than having other disabled persons that day have to take that route and be subjected to the elements and vehicles driving through the parking lot splashing them. I found his attitude and manner of speaking unprofessional and not a positive representative of Chilis. Will I eat at Chili's again? Yes. That particular location? Perhaps. Hopefully management will take that day as a learning experience and be better prepared. It was nerve wracking trying to make certain this person was safe and wouldn't fall. At the very least, Chilis should have told us the issues when they greeted us, or while we sat there eating, or when we paid, or before we left the booth and walked gingerly up front to leave. Multiple opportunities to inform us were missed or ignored. Had we been made aware upon entering, we would have just gone somewhere else that rainy day and ate at Chili's...
Read moreI love chilis we go there all the time but when I went there tonight 8pm June 27th 2016 my friend tolD me they are are mad at me, that all the employees and pissed because I'm being a di€k. But the issue was the girl messed up everything on my plate. The reason being her friend walked by our table while she was in the middle of taking my order when she then out of no where looked and her friends and started talking to them. ok well as long as my food is right I don't care but not, one thing on the whole plate was right I order dr.pepper rib full rack fries extra crispy and broccoli with caso on top but everything was wrong well I wonder why ? Im giving 5 stars cause most the time when Lynn the manager is working its great but I guess this manager and her employee that can talks to whoever she wants in the middle of an order are not so great. Because the manager did absolutely nothing we come to chilis 3 time a week easy so for her to no even come over and say sorry about your order was BS I had to call her over and she rudely left our table after I asked about a caso. Charger I got charged 2 times if it cost 1.40 don't charger me .69 cents 2 times it looks wrong charge me 1.40 on top of that there was nearly nothing the the broccoli.
