The popular T or C microbrewery had planned to open an outlet in Las Cruces' Arroyo Plaza when pandemic shutdown occurred. Now, although opened for takeout, it started sit-down service and we decided to try perhaps the only microbrewery on the east side of town. Nothing different format-wise from other microbreweries, about 6 limited brewed beers/ciders and a fixed larger batch brews on a printed menu (See photo). No food service, but they provide a menu from Nico's Mexican restaurant also located in the plaza. Other food options in the Plaza are a Subway or Chik-fil-a. On our first visit I tried flights which is a bargain and is a way to sample a large portion of their offerings. I tried, Airstream (very light beer, almost water-like), Namakazaces, Buckhorn IPA, black cherry cider, (excellent), raspberry shandy (summer brew), and tropical stout (very good). While I can't recall the array of beers at other microbreweries, I would characterize this establishment's range as somewhat balanced, i.e., not slanted toward hoppy beers. Our second visit we brought food from Mama B's burger joint. I had the stout and my partner had the black cherry cider and we had an enjoyable evening and went home with growler of black cherry cider (from Sandia Brewery) which they accommodated us by filling a jug from another Las Cruces microbrewery. Note, with the 50% capacity and 6' social distancing rules, capacity is probably 16. We welcome this wateringhole to the east side...
Read moreI’ve been going here since they opened usually once a week. There Monday night quiz is fun. I like the outdoor patio area but it’s not very big. They did expand the indoor space into another room which is a good thing, as the place is not very big, though it’s time they put some art on the walls I get a little tied to look at blank walls. Feels like the new room is unfinished. The beer is decent not a lot of options on tap they rarely have ambers. There and no 20 ounce glasses which is a bit strange I think for a brewery. The 16 ounce glass is the largest serving and because of that their beer can be pricey. They don’t offer food other than chips and jarred salsa for sale. There’s a Mexican restaurant next-door and they will provide you with a menu. You can bring in your own food/snacks though which is what we usually do. Honestly I prefer when brewery’s do that and focus on beer not the food or do a rotation of food trucks would be ideal. Too many breweries try to be restaurants and rarely get it right in LC. Dog friendly is...
Read moreMet an incredibly interesting young lady there. She was working on a Sunday which she said she typically does not work Sundays or Mondays but she was training a new employee who was also very pleasant. This young lady shared her tragic story of losing half her right arm. Run over by a train in El Paso downtown years ago. Almost killed her. But here she is smiling, working, and teaching another employee. Tara it was so good to meet you. I’m so glad you found the way to not feel sorry for yourself or feel like your like was over and or became a drug addict which could have easily happened as I’m sure after all the surgeries you’ve had you’ve been prescribed plenty of narcotics. Congratulations on being a wife and mother to your baby too! T or C Brewery is such a neat place. Great micro brews, live music, interesting people and good food especially the burger delivered from across the street. This Review is for T or C Brewing Co. in Truth or...
