If you're wandering the Fremont Street Experience and happen to stumble into Hennessey’s Tavern, consider yourself lucky. Tucked away in plain sight, there’s a mind-bending, laugh-out-loud spectacle happening that you’d never expect. The House of Magic is NOT your typical Vegas magic show. This is Justin Rivera’s world, and you’re just living in it, if only for an hour. My last time there, I ended up on stage with Justin.
Justin, an internationally acclaimed comedy magician and fan favorite from America’s Got Talent, is the resident headliner at this family-friendly show, which means you’re about to witness a master of sleight of hand work his craft in ways that’ll make you second guess everything you thought you knew about illusions. This is magic done right: a perfect blend of jaw-dropping tricks, gut-busting comedy, and surprisingly heartwarming moments.
Now, don’t be fooled by the location. Hennessey’s Tavern might not scream “world-class entertainment,” but that’s the beauty of it. It's underground, and it’s the kind of intimate, up-close experience that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden treasure no one else knows about. The place might be low-key, but Justin's high-energy performance will have you believing in the impossible. If you think you’ve seen it all in Vegas, trust me, this show will prove you wrong.
And let’s talk service, because this isn’t just about magic. The servers at Hennessey’s are on top of their game. Whether you’re sipping a pint or grabbing a bite, they’ll make sure your experience is seamless while you’re caught up in Rivera’s whirlwind of tricks. There’s nothing like a well-oiled machine where the food, drinks, and show all come together effortlessly.
This show is more than just sleight of hand; it’s a must-see, high-energy escape that pulls you right into the magic. If you’re exploring Fremont Street and want something different, something that doesn’t rely on the usual glitzy, over-the-top Las Vegas extravaganzas, The House of Magic at Hennessey’s Tavern is where you should be. A hidden gem, a well-kept secret, and an unforgettable experience.
So, next time you're in downtown Vegas, stop by, grab a seat, and let Justin Rivera take you on a ride of magic you’ll never forget. This show isn’t just a trick; it’s a...
Read moreWe are two adults with no kids and saw Mike perform and I can't honestly give a great review. A couple of tricks were okay, but most fell flat. Most tricks were also extremely basic. Ropes, rings, etc. Like the first things you would pick up at a magic shop. I don't expect a high budget here, but I've seen a lot of awesome low budget magic shows and this just doesn't stack up.
Some of the tricks took so long to set up with so little payoff (grocery price, other prediction, kid on stage) that we almost left. Audience interaction, which is always awful regardless, was worse here because most people he chose did not want to interact, especially the little kid who was so nervous that it was painful to watch. Outside of the magic, the jokes were mostly eye rolling dad jokes, a few of which were funny.
Final verdict: This show is worth $10, though it would make sense for it to come free with the meal unless they step it up, which can definitely be done on the same budget. Kids, drunk people, and people that have seen very few magic shows will...
Read moreWent to see Chad with my son who is 3. It is more stand up comedy with magic. He is doing the show by himself. Still fun but some tricks takes a long time and the magician/comedian is doing jokes that little kid won't understand. It's good for 12+ kids and adults. As he said it's not David Copperfield. Small stage and line up chairs so if you have a tall dude in front of you it's not great. The first trick with the bowling bowl was awesome but the rest was a little long to me as an adult seeing most of the magic shows in Vegas. You should not look at your watch during the show. I still had a good time with my son and some laughs for sure! I paid $39 at the door...
