First of all let me say WOW! The moment we walked in we were great by an enthusiastic man. He welcomed us in and asked if it was our first time in. He gave us a brief run down of the menu and a little history since this restaurant was fairly new, having been open for a little more than a year. Dwayne (our greeter and the owner) was extremely polite and personable and took our orders. I got the Jerk Chicken Wrap and my girlfriend the Loco Moco sandwich. Dwayne took his time preparing our sandwiches with care and love. Reggae played on a tv creating the island ambience along with brightly painted walls and bright yellow vinyl wrapped seating along the wall. My girlfriend pointed out how clean the entire place was from floors to eating surface all the way down to stainless steel surface. Dwayne working alone had my wrap finished first I quickly got up and retrieved it already anticipating my first bite. I was immediately rewarded as my tastebuds sent pleasure signals to my brain. This wrap was filled with chicken and drizzled in sauce and worth every penny. Dwayne stopped in to ensure I was satisfied with his delectable work and let us know the second Sammy would be out shortly. In the meantime me and my girlfriend shared my wrap. As promised the Loco Moco sammy came out and the fried egg was cooked to perfection and unbroken. The first bite exploded delicious yolk all over my girlfriend hands and I went in for the second bite of her sandwich and it delivered just as my wrap did. We also had a refreshing lychee dragon fruit smoothie at Dwayne’s recommendation after I let him know about my intolerance to dairy. Only a few minutes from where we just moved in downtown Las Vegas, we will definitely be returning over and over to enjoy excellent food prepared by and exceptional person. The food and service is worth the trip to try one of the best sandwiches you may ever have in Las Vegas. My girlfriend ranted and raved about the Goodwich being great but in all it was just an overpriced sandwich, while Dwayne is dishing out love filled deliciousness . Go...
Read moreJust as other reviewers have said, we were greeted by the very friendly owner/chef when we walked in the door. He was very patient with us as he went over a lot of the menu and his recommendations.
I wanted a mint lemonade but the gentleman said that his mint was a little subpar so he gave me a sip of basil lemonade to see if I wanted to substitute. It was so delicious and refreshing and it kept with the theme of several other things I tried today that were unusual, exotic, and delicious. The tuna salad had raisins and grapes in it and I was put off by its appearance. After I bravely tried a bite, I was really impressed. Sweet and spicy and unlike any other tuna I've had. I ended up going with the pulled chicken salad sandwich was was also strange and weird and fantastic. My wife had the Asian salad with jerk salmon. Plain and simple, that salmon was one of the best tasting things I've ever had. Even the cole slaw was excellent, not usually a favorite of mine.
It was a little too hot in the restaurant but with people in and out, understandable. There's lots of parking. This isn't a terrible neighborhood but I would recommend not loitering in the parking lot like we did unless you're feeling adventurous as the sun goes down.
This is the kind of small business I feel good supporting and where I'm happy spending my money. The owner/chef deserves every bit...

The staff proved to be attentive and knowledgeable, offering helpful guidance that made navigating the menu simple. My wife selected the jerk chicken wrap and the Purple Rain açaí bowl. The jerk chicken wrap stood out for its bold, flavorful seasoning, though the coleslaw was a bit overwhelming in portion. The açaí bowl, on the other hand, was refreshing, wholesome, and packed with fresh ingredients.
I opted for the truffle chicken crunch sandwich, which was indulgent in the best way. The chicken was tender and well-prepared, elevated by the unexpected crunch of Doritos, while fresh lettuce and tomato added balance. Though not the lightest option, it was deeply satisfying. To accompany the meal, I enjoyed a pineapple ginger drink that struck a perfect harmony of sweetness and spice—refreshing without being overpowering.
Overall, Island Deli and Smoothie Bar excels as a casual lunch destination. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and creative menu offerings, it earns a well-deserved...
