We knew this place is pricey and we came here because we like the atmosphere and service we had last time. Waited 41min to be seated and it was not even busy. The hostess was right next to us and wouldnt keep us updated unless we asked. We were told 20min tops. She was too busy texting on her phone. Once we were seated. We waited 21min to track down a server and ask for the manager who she said was Chris. We explained that we had now been there a little over an hour and hadnt even been acknowledged. Our server was Martha. She apologized. Made sure our food came out asap as we were hungry and thirsty. We ordered a coffee and a beer. While Martha was out in the kitchen making sure our food was getting to us correctly. We watched the bartender just chit chat it up. I wouldve requested the manager but I saw he was too busy chit chatting it up at the end of the bar with a female guest. Our food arrived before our drinks to the embarrassment of our server. The food is over priced and the quality of the food and service is not the same. My friend asked me not to get up and leave as I was going to leave and walk to tacotarian nearby (I regret I didnt) I ordered the impossible breakfast sando $14 and empanda flight was I think $13-14 My michelada was $10 and not even in a bigger glass. My friend got chilaquiles and a coffee and empanada. Tab was $70.99 with out tip. For waiting over an hour, having to track down a server, ask for manager, remind about drinks. We couldve gone to tacotarian and had more drinks, better service and paid $50
Shout out to Martha who looked like the only one actually working. From the minute we sat down. We observed her hustling. Taking orders, payments, cleaning tables. Super friendly with everyone. If it wasnt for her, we wouldnt have left. We tipped her and thanked her as it is not her fault. Would never go back there again… ever. This place looks like its okay letting one worker do it all. Shout out to the lazy manager not observing the rest of the people outside complaining as to why the hell its taking so long to be seated and hostess looks like shes not a people person. Also found a piece of cut cardboard in the mushroom empanada. Looked grey/light blue. Be careful how you prep them. Took 1 pics to show small portions of the overpriced food. Would u pay $30 for whats in the pic? Good...
Read moreMakers & Finders in Las Vegas is a vibrant café that masterfully blends Latin-inspired cuisine with a modern twist, offering a menu full of fresh and flavorful dishes that are sure to impress any foodie. Whether you're there for brunch, lunch, or just a casual bite, this spot delivers an exceptional dining experience. One of the standout items on the menu for me is their black bean empanadas. These crispy, golden pastries are filled with a rich and savory black bean mixture that's perfectly seasoned. The empanadas have just the right amount of crunch on the outside, while the inside remains warm and hearty. They're served with a side of zesty dipping sauce that adds an extra kick, making them a must-try appetizer or snack. The avocado salad is another highlight, offering a refreshing and healthy option that doesn't skimp on flavor. The salad is a beautiful mix of ripe avocado, fresh greens, and a variety of colorful vegetables, all tossed in a light, tangy dressing. The avocado is the star of the show--creamy and perfectly ripe, it elevates the salad to something truly special. For those in the mood for a classic with a twist, the lox and bagel at Makers & Finders is a delightful choice. The bagel is perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch that pairs well with the silky, flavorful lox. The addition of fresh tomatoes, capers, and red onions brings a burst of freshness and brightness to the dish, making it a balanced and indulgent treat. Lastly, the ceviche with plantain chips is a dish that showcases the restaurant's ability to blend traditional flavors with a modern flair. The ceviche is fresh and tangy, with a delightful mix of citrus-marinated seafood that's both light and flavorful. The plantain chips are a perfect complement, offering a crispy, slightly sweet contrast to the acidity of the ceviche. It's a dish that's as fun to eat as it is delicious. Overall, Makers & Finders is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy innovative, Latin-inspired dishes in a lively and welcoming environment. I will say this however- I have been to everyone of their locations in Las Vegas and Henderson and service wise, their downtown location is the best. I would unfortunately state that the other locations are...
Read moreCame here on $2 empenada day. It was pretty busy and was told it was a 30 min wait. Which was fine. We were willing to wait. They took our number and said they would text us when it was our turn. We went to the antique store nearby to kill time. While we were there, we received a message that allowed us to view our queue in line. We constantly checked to make sure we started to head back on time. (Never received any text to tell us it was our turn) When we were one or two next in line, we came back, only to be told that they messaged us 9 minutes ago and that we had lost our place in line. That after 5 minutes, your name is removed from the system, but when you go into the virtual queue link, it says their policy is to hold the table for 15 min.... That math isn't mathing. We showed the message we received for the virtual queue, showing that we never received a text otherwise. When we talked to the hostess, she told us another 5 or 10 minutes so they could clear off a table for us... and then proceeded to seat new people coming in and completely ignored us. When we explained to the manager the situation, there was no sympathy, just a "sorry, there's nothing we can do" and a "would you like to order to go?" NO! We wasted an hour of our time just trying to be seated and then what? Waste another 30 min waiting for food? This was a very unfortunate experience and I don't know if I want to...
