I have been enjoying the courtyard in the Ferguson mall since ‘22 at least. I have been an avid supporter of Mothership, cashing in multiple $20 off rewards points. I have always enjoyed their employees and the products they offer. The innovation of flavors and coffee outshined other major chains and it felt good supporting local. I gladly paid the higher price because it was worth it, then.
However in the last 3 years, just as corporate greed and inflation has made other business owners hike prices and make cuts, Mothership has leaned into the same corporate model. Mothership charges almost 20-50% more for their food and drink than any major chain does now. A coffee and a sandwich at Mothership will and can cost you over $20 with tip. (Current price $8 coffee and $12 sandwich). At first I was okay with the price because the sandwich was fresh and GIANT, the atmosphere was light and refreshing and the staff always made a great impression. It was the best place to pass the time or do quite computer work. The sandwich I like in particular the turkey sausage egg and cheese on a croissant. It used to come with two pieces of protein and double cheese. Making it well worth the full belly and price. About a year ago they downgraded to one protein and one piece of cheese, but didn’t make the sandwich more affordable. Soon after that the croissants changed and were no longer as light and fluffy as they once were. They are now flat, brittle and more of the crust and flakes end up on me and the table then in my mouth. Making the sandwich no longer as enjoyable as it was. Time and time I’ve gone back hoping it was a small change but still today one piece of protein and still on a sad small croissant. Still the price was $12 and had not been affected in a way that benefited consumers.
Now that could be the 3rd party bakery where they get their food, (because it is not made in house or at the store it is trucked in and microwaved just like the starred big box drive through) However as a proudly boasted locally owned and operated coffee shop, we’d hope the owner would see the decrease in quality and help fix it so it’s not as much as sham to repeat supporters. No signs yet. The baked goods, food quality and atmosphere has gotten ever slower worse, and the once joyful atmosphere is dark and dim. They are constantly out of product and there has been days where they have been out of food completely for DAYS at a time. Working close to the shop makes it hard to go anywhere else and we locals count on the coffee shop for normality.
If changing prices to help locals isn’t on the CEO’s lists of to-dos then finding a bakery to make the $12 sandwiches worth it, should be. The bakery case always now looks sad, product sits all day and then is warmed up as customers order it. Running business are hard and choices have to be made but to many businesses are focused on getting as much as they can and not caring about their product any longer. The baked goods once fluffy, light and worth buying a few for later are now dry, crumbly and smaller than they once were.
For tourists on the strip who don’t live here, go check it out. It’s well worth the experience and the heightened price is nothing like the traps on the strip and it still will be a delicious experience. They use real bitters in their coffee and flavor combos that really make it fun to drink coffee again. You’ll get better coffee here then the bees and food is still more then the bees has to offer. But for locals, for people who go every day, like I once did. Their prices and decline of overall quality both in service and products have made supporting their business hard to do. Why should I pay $22 for a sandwich and coffee combo when the $12 combo at the drive through tastes fresher and is made to order?
The staff is amazing at this location and in Summerlin. Just sad to see another business owner care about their bottom line and taking from their customers bottom line, than creating and...
Read moreWe were on the hunt for something better than our hotel lobby coffee, and stumbled upon Mothership while browsing for local spots.
A lot of cafes looked great, but this one really stood out thanks to its creative drink flavors. It’s tucked into the historic Ferguson’s Motel, which gives it a cool, local vibe— with plenty of outdoor seating and small shops around.
☕️DRINKS: What sets Mothership apart is the menu. Beyond your typical lattes and cappuccinos, they offer some truly unique drinks like Blueberry White Mocha, Butterbeer, Bourbon Vanilla, and Creme Brulee.
You’ll also find tea options, tea lattes, and even some kid-friendly choices like hot chocolate and something called a “Kiddoccino.” Bonus: free coloring and activity sheets for the kids!
We tried the Bourbon Vanilla and Butterbeer lattes—both were excellent. The bourbon gave the vanilla a distinct twist you don’t usually find, and the Butterbeer had just the right amount of cinnamon without being overpowering.
My latte ended up close to $10 after oat milk and house-made whip add-ons—but honestly, it was worth it. That whipped topping was incredible—like vanilla bean ice cream turned into a fluffy, dreamy cloud. I would drink a full cup of just that. They also run a cool program called “Sip With Purpose,” where part of the proceeds from a featured drink support a charitable cause. In June 2025, their Blueberry White Mocha helps fund the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
🥐FOOD: They’ve got a nice variety of food offerings—croissant and ciabatta breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, a chia bowl, breakfast burritos, and a rotating list of pastries. Seasonal items right now include: Strawberry Lemon Glazed Muffin, Cherry Cheese Danish, Almond Bearclaw, and a Spinach & Feta Pillow. We opted for the ham version of the pillow (kind of like a folded croissant), and it was fantastic. Warm, flaky, and the crispy melted cheese on the ends was perfection.
🏠INTERIOR: The vibe inside is calm and inviting, which was a welcome break from the heat (it was already 90+ degrees at 10am). A mix of tables and cozy lounge seating gives it a relaxed feel. They also sell coffee beans and some fun branded merch!
Bonus: There’s additional seating up on the rooftop!
🚗PARKING & RESTROOMS: Street parking was simple—we found a spot about a block away, and since it was Sunday, we didn’t have to pay. There isn’t a restroom inside, but there’s a designated restroom area nearby with individual unisex stalls, each with its own sink. Surprisingly clean and well-maintained.
🌟OVERALL: This was such a great find! Friendly staff, inventive drinks, and delicious pastries made this one of the best coffee experiences we’ve had in Vegas. Can’t wait to return on our next...
