I’ve been going here for many years; have always had really great experiences and adored all the staff and the owners.
I’ve been there for the good and the bad…. Know a lot of lore as well….
One of my first memories was about a month into opening where I was one of maybe 3 costumers there; had the pool all to myself and snuck in a glass cup into the pool, kept it out of sight under the pool bench and one of the owners spotted it from like a mile away, but instead of getting upset he went into the bar brought me a plastic cup with a straw and politely informed me that there is no glassware in the pool area… he was very professional, respectful and polite to the point that he left a amazingly good lasting impression on. His kindness shined through the actions that he did and the tone of his voice to the point that it made me become more of a regular here and started coming around a lot more often even if it was quite far from my house. I’d travel 45 mins to drink and use their pool/spa even when we have a pool and spa in our backyard.
Showing support to good people in the lgbtq+ community is how I choose to pay it forward and only wanted to see this place grow into the beautiful and majestic flower that it is in this forsaken city.
I was around to witness different mile stones as they began to ascend, night swims, Qvegas party, the reopening party, queer party bus,etc
However I fell into some hardships so I haven’t been back since the reopening party… I decided to go here 7/28/25 at 430pm just to drink at eat at the bar since I’m not a really strong swimmer I don’t get in the pool and I was waiting for someone.
I walked in was created with a big warm smile from a new bartender I’ve never seen before and asked her if she had seen them. They said they noticed my friend but was unsure where they were since it didn’t look like they were in the bar.
I walked outside and notice the pool door is left wide open so I decided to just sit for a bit while I get my life together on one of the lounges.
I begin to take my sandals off and this unknown man with two queens says “if you’re gonna get in the pool you need a pool pass”
I responded “I wasn’t planning on getting in the pool”
He responded “you still need a pool pass”
I asked him “okay, what time is it?”
He said “5pm”
I asked him “how much are the pool passes?”
He then told me the amount but didn’t mention any of the amenities that come with it; I had to find that out online later
I asked him “is it possible to get a discount” (I wasn’t planning on getting in the pool, the sun sets at 7pm and just literally waiting for a friend, didn’t want food because I’m vegetarian and drinks were gonna be à la carte)
He said “we gotta make money somehow”
It was mainly the tone and demeanor of this person that was the issue I had with them to the point that I wanted to grab the $40 in my pocket and toss it at the floor and tell him to keep the change and not block my sun.
But I caught myself
I asked him what his name was and he told me his name and with a snobby voice he said “I’m the manager here”
I politely told him my name and walked away…. Thinking to myself
“He isn’t really a good manager seeing as he let (fully knowing) one of the queens have a martini glass in hand into the pool area and did not say anything to them because they’re “friends””
That could be perceived as favoritism by patrons as well as possibly coworkers and I don’t know this man but Pepole don’t remember who you are or what you say; they remember how you made them feel.
I wasn’t asking for a hand out just a discount and I expressed that to him even mentioned I’ve been a patron for many years implying that I wasn’t aware of the changes just found it comical that for a man that works at bent he sure doesn’t bend, a true stiffler.
if you do go here as a local make sure that at least one of the owners are on sight or stick to the bar tenders so you can have a good experience. Don’t deal with the ego tripping, self interest, un-hospitable,mean spirited,favoritism...
Read moreOn my recent trip to Vegas I decided to check out The Bent Inn. I was excited about there being an LGBTQ+ owned hotel in Vegas and I wanted to support.
That was a mistake. We, as a community, deserve better than this.
All the staff I encountered - three in the bar/restaurant, one from the housekeeping team, and one of the owners - came off as annoyed by my existence. At check in, which is at the bar, the person who helped me didn't offer any sort of information about things at the hotel, just saying I had a balance due. At the door to my room the keypad didn't work. Even though I explained I was in a bit of a hurry, the 3 people it took to open the door insisted on trying to troubleshoot the problem instead of just opening the door with the code they ended up using
I had a package that UPS tried to deliver to the address listed on Google and in the hotel's booking site. When I tried to share this with the owner, he replied they get packages there all the time. He had zero interest in assisting in any way or even acknowledging that anything bad had happend and being sympathetic.
Before I even went to bed the first night, I wanted to check out and just go somehere else. I talked to the front desk/bar again and he said he'd write a note for the managers in the morning. That was the best he could do. At no point did he ask what was wrong, offer to make any effort, or hell, even offer to get me a drink from the front desk/bar. NOTHING.
That next morning I got a text from the owner saying if I could be out of the rooom in 90 mins, I could check out and they'd refund the other 2 nights. I wasn't at the hotel so getting back, packed and out in 90 mins would be impossible. More of an issue, he also didn't ask why, if there was anything he could do, or make any effort to be 'good at their job because they are the very embodiment of hospitality.' NOTHING.
This morning I checked out. Three staff were sitting at the front desk/bar with one working. I asked for a receipt. (I still don't know what the balance due was for.) He told me that he couldn't print - there's a printer right there - and that he thinks they usually email a receipt. The stared at me blankly because I wasn't leaving. No effort to ask the other 3, to try to make the printer work, to ask me if I wanted a cup of coffee. NOTHING.
The worst part of the whole experience is the room itself. These are the smallest, darkest, most poorly designed hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. This hotel opened two months or so ago but you'd never know they were designed in a modern era. There is nowhere to put anything, definitely nowhere to work and nowhere to even have something to eat. There is no coffeemaker or fridge for sure. The bathroom door doubles as the "closet" door as it slides back and forth. The shelves in the closest aren't big enough for actual clothes and you can't hang anything on the three hangers on a pipe because the space isn't wide enough and it'll block the bathroom door.
There are 2 lamps, both of which you have to find the switches behind the bed to turn off. There is a phonewhich never turns off and has a red light that flashes because you can't clear the missed calls. No biggy, no one ever picks up the phone at the front desk/bar. There are 3 outlets in the ENTIRE ROOM. 2 of them are not near furniture, so there's no place to charge a phone. One is in the center of the wall where a headboard should be. There is no shelf or place for soap/shampoo in the shower. There is no towel holder near the sink. The blinds that attempt to block out the light from the hallway don't align. They also fall off the wall.
This might be an ok place for a party weekend, or a trick. But it's not...
Read moreWe wanted to love the bent inn, but we won’t be staying here again.
Check in was smooth, and the bartender explained everything well. It even seemed like he was at the end of his shift and we appreciated the time he took with us.
When we got to the room we did our usual bug paranoid check-stripping the bed, checking the baseboards, the bathroom, etc.
Unfortunately the entire floor was dusty, had dead skin, mystery bug remnants, some sticky….substances(?) and there were even live bug nymphs in the sink. The mattress cover (in both rooms) had mystery stains. Since I was having a panic attack my partner went down to chat with the bar and they immediately offered to switched us rooms.
The second room was great, it was an upgrade from our previous room and had a view of the pool. Unfortunately, while we found no live bugs, the floor was the same dirty and unswept. We found dead bugs everywhere, and we just decided to clean up and stay. We didn’t want to bother the management again especially since they said this was the only room left. We are people pleasers!
The decor is cute, and there were some thoughtful touches. The ice bucket is there, but it didn’t seem to have been cleaned. There is a mini closet behind the sliding door to the bathroom with a safe, although we didn’t use it because it had the same random bug remnants. There is shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, although the body wash was almost empty. There wasn’t any cold water in our room, it was only hot and hotter. The bed was very comfortable and the tv was great. When I checked out the pool I noticed they have some handicap/assisted swimming chairs and I LOVE that. We love accessibility!!!
There were some comments about the neighborhood being a bit rough, and while that’s true, no one messed with us and we barely even saw anyone. There’s parking behind the resort and it was quiet. I definitely felt safe.
It seems that there is a skeleton crew running the resort, which could very well explain the minor bumps-however we really wish we didn’t have to switch rooms! Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and we’ll definitely come for pool parties or the bar...
