Thanks to the locals and Reddit, my friends and I made sure to visit PublicUs, and this place is a gem in Las Vegas. It is located in the Freemont area, with a parking lot. You can get validated for your parking, or it will be $2 an hour.
The interior of the restaurant is a cute canteen-style vibe, and lots of love is given to actor Keanu Reeves. I love how cozy the atmosphere is. They have an eye for interior design from the shelves/walls to the benches and trees where you can sit to eat...all that is lovely and creates a warm energy.
Let's talk about the food! Everything that my friends and I ordered here was great. This place went beyond our expectations and we were quite blown away by the things we tried. With that being said, we highly recommend the following:
The Garden Farm Benedict- perfect egg benedicts on an avocado toast with spinach and other roasted veggies and potatoes. This was perfect, especially for this girl who loves her eggs benedict
The Waffles for the People- a unique texture that reminds me of a mochi waffle. Add the berries. This was delicious with their whipped cream and maple syrup
Pastries: I feel like you can't go wrong with anything here! Their blueberry cream cheese scone, the Malasada with fresh fruit preserves were an authentic treat and seemed to be baked to perfection without being overly sweet.
Coffee- I recommend their Death Cream, which is like a creamier version of a Vietnamese Coffee. Their hot vanilla latte was pretty good too.
At the counter that day, the customer service was mediocre. However, during our meal, there was a gentleman (he had long white hair, a white beard, and looks like he could be from the cast of Sons of Anarchy) who came out to ask about our meals, made time to talk to us, and offered my nephew an Easter Egg. That was a very nice touch, and made this visit even the more welcoming. I believe this gentleman might be one of the owners, since he carried an Easter egg basket around to pass these treats out to little kids. That was very sweet, and he genuinely seemed to want everyone to have a great experience here.
I imagine it can get super busy during the weekend, so keep that in mind. You order food at the counter and then you're given a number. Someone will find you to bring your food out if you choose to dine in.
10/10 recommend for wonderful décor, delicious food, and...
Read moreI was stoked to slide in easily enough into a spot across from the place & knew that today the parking gawds were on our side. Holy sh!t it hot! as we scurry towards the shaded awning on the other side. I see a poster for an upcoming stageshow production of The Elephant Man!?! & A smaller flyer for FullofHell😈 Kool I'm down. Kinda crowded as we walk in, I see a few tables about to be turned& the line's long, so I'm not concern. They have a decent assortment of baked goodies behind the glass, (last time I was here I had a doughnut muffin, pretty damn good ), & bit of retail (farm eggs, local honey, in house? bread) to match the crafty feel the place has going Anyway, a cookie, 2 beers(cans), 2 sammies, & just the right amount of time for a few tables to open up later, we had our seat... this is possibly the first time I've actually dined in maybe(?) So once seated I was kinda zoned out watching the gears at work. Our beers arrive pre poured. Not sure how I feel about this, however they done properly so no complaints. An imperial IPA & a watermelon gose. The beer selection was nice. Small & there were a few things I'd want to come back & try. Her medium burger was well done & cold, but my scrambled egg, bacon samich thingy was pretty good. I can only keep my fingers crossed that they're using those fancy eggs on the menu. Not trying to outpace myself I take time to enjoy their reading selection. Ottoleghi this time, there's also a genuinely interesting assortment of tchotchkes, a Kaws, some kid robot. Things to further conversations. Wait, "where's my cookie?!?!"😭 I get a look & before U know it, I'm back in line to locate the missing item. I like that it's shards of chocolate, but ease up on the flake salt on top. Didn't have any on this visit, but their coffee program is pretty legit. Usually for me its a pour over with a shot, or...
Read moreso as we pulled up to this spot I noticed that the parking was pretty straightforward street parking a lot of parking but the two days I went it wasn't like it was super crowded but there was a decent line maybe three or four people in front of me in line. very crucial place to recharge or activate your current state of being. armed with a delicious menu/bakery juices and espresso this place serves the mission . keesvanderwesten spirit espresso machine was the win for me anytime I see this machine I know that the company or establishment really cares about good espresso. I feel like this place will suit any individual looking to entertain or a place to focus on some work. has he stand in line for food there's a bakery baked good section that's pretty crucial. I had the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was $4 which was for a pretty big cookie
the steak and egg plate was just what I needed after the plane ride back from Hawaii. I think the state costed like 23 bucks. it was cooked perfectly I really enjoyed sharing it with my girlfriend we were both full and satisfied at the end. for the next couple days in Las Vegas I'm definitely going to start my day with this place. I'm on the hunt for the best espresso machines in Las Vegas and until I find it I'm going to start with here. another cool notepad about this espresso Cafe / bakery eatery is that it's surrounded with abandoned motels so if you're into that kind of thing you should walk around and take a look the architecture and era are specific to Las Vegas
I actually edited my review by adding two more dishes that I ate when was the braves the barbecue bento plate and one was a fried tofu bento plate and everything I was looking for.
