It has been a while since I had some Thai food and on this late night I tried Thai Paradise. I walked in and noticed how spacious it was as my waiter walked me to my table. I decided to keep my order simple and ordered some Drunken Noodles Level 6 spice with chicken, some shrimp rolls, and a glass of Thai Tea.
My drink and food came just under 5 minutes which was amazing considering there were several people dining in at the time I was ordering my food. I started with the shrimp rolls and noticed it came with a side of Siracha mayonnaise sauce for dipping. I don't recall having that condiment to dip my shrimp rolls in before and I thought it was odd not to see any other sauce on my table. But then I noticed you have to pay 50 cents for a side of chile sauce and 2 dollars for the peanut sauce. Oh snaps it must be the sign of the times and I assume they are not wanting you to waste condiments since imports are not cheap to come by. So don't act shocked to pay a little extra for the condiments. So I dipped my shrimp roll into the Siracha mayonnaise sauce and it tasted ok. Not the best but I did like how it was not hard to bite into the roll and the jumbo shrimp did pack a good flavor. Just a tad salty for my delicate palette but not bad at all.
After tasting the shrimp rolls I took a sip of my Thai Tea which was sweet and delicious. A little too sweet but I wonder if the salt from the shrimp is declaring war on the sugar from my Thai Tea on my taste buds. The contrast was apparent but I can tell you the sugar won this first battle.
Now I jumped on my Drunken Noodles like a hawk swooping down on a squirrel. Oh yes very nice the veggies are toned down too make the noodles stand out with a flavorful, smokey, fresh off the pan taste on them. Not soupy at all and the level 6 spice was kind of laughable. I had no problem with the heat and I only wished to have taken it to level 10 spice. But the chicken had good flavor and was well balanced with the semi crispy veggies mixed in the noodles. The portion size seemed average like other places but it still filled me up.
So it is worth a visit if you are craving some Thai food without waiting 2 hours to dine in...yes I'm looking at you Le Thai restaurant! I'm not sure how busy it gets at Thai Paradise but my 32 dollar bill was worth not having to wait 2 hours in line to get in at least. Try the other items on the menu and let us all know what you think. Next time I'll try the Pad...
Read moreIf I could give no stars and still post this review, I would. When we arrived at the restaurant, we requested a table for two and were asked to wait a few minutes. While the server went to check for a table, we decided to look at the huge menu near the register while we were standing there. After about two minutes, the hostess at the register rudely told us that we can have a seat while we wait. I told her we were checking out the menu. She then rudely shoved two menus at us and told us that we can have a seat and read the menu. At this point my spidey-sense was telling me to leave because for whatever reason, she possibly did not want us there. Against my better judgement, I stayed. We were seated about 5 minutes later and asked for water. She immediately brought out 2 cups of water with melted ice. My fiancé mentions how quickly we received the water and that the water had likely been sitting there since the ice in it was melted. She literally walked behind the counter that is near the kitchen and came back with two glasses of water in less than 30 seconds. I look around the restaurant of about 15-20 other people seated at 5 or so tables and realize we are the only ones with red cups like the old school cups from Pizza Hut. EVERYONE else in the restaurant with water had clear cups filled with fresh ice. We decided to just ignore that because hey, they could have just been out of the clear cups at the time. However, I looked up at her again a minute later and she was scratching her nose. We put 3 bucks on the table and left, which was being generous. It is important to point out that we were the only people of color in the restaurant besides the staff (who likely don’t believe that they are of color too🙄). Anyway, I have been around long enough to know when someone is making incorrect assumptions about me because of my skin color, so we left. I probably saved my self from an intense bout of food poisoning because everything about this woman screamed, don’t trust her with your food. Moral of this story: Follow your intuition. Anybody can pay to have fake reviews posted to these sites for pennies on the dollar. If these hundreds of five star reviews for this establishment sound too good to be true and inflated, it likely is...
Read moreI wandered in after not wanting to eat Subway or McDonald’s in the adjacent parking lot. It had good reviews, however, I was legit looking around during my meal to confirm I was in the correct restaurant. I wish I had read a particular one before I ordered. I ordered the combination pad Thai. There were exactly 2 shrimp in there and the dish was extremely bland which was surprising! It was yellow/orangish when it arrived which also threw me for a loop, but I was expecting flavor town off the color. The meat has no seasoning at all, its literally cooked and added and I had to do digging around for the two shrimp that were there. I highly do NOT recommend the pad Thai. The Thai tea was good. The atmosphere was ok. The music was good and there’s plenty of tables and space for large groups. There is free lot parking, however, the in front of the restaurant parking is limited to 15 minutes. It’s very dark and…idk groungy (I made that word up) area, I was a little unsure I had the right place walking up. There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon. It had an overall smell of acetone, like a nail salon, when you first enter which was also off putting, but probably just due to their location. The service was ok. I was brought my food, left to eat, and they checked if I needed anything at the end of my meal. I would have liked some chili sauce or something during to add some kind of flavor during my meal had they inquired/been around. The bathroom is HUGE and clean. Overall, there are WAY better Thai restaurants Vegas, some even in that area. I would not return on my own dime ($25). I’m always lowkey sad when I’m disappointed by a hyped up restaurant. 😢
Edit *due to the unprofessional response of this business a better option for Thai food in the area is Thai St. Cafe at 3137 S Sammy Davis Jr Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89109. This is a completely unpaid and unsponsored review, as all my other...
