The Only Thing Worth Five Dollars Was My Regret If you're wondering whether to try the 5 Dollar Cafe at 2200 S Las Vegas Blvd, let me save you the trouble: DON'T. Walking in, I was immediately hit with a smell that can only be described as a mix of cigarettes, stale fryer oil, and broken dreams. The atmosphere alone had me questioning my life choices. Then came the “meal.” Served on paper plates and paper cups, which felt less like casual dining and more like an underfunded school field trip. The coffee was so bland, I half expected it to apologize for existing. The toast? Cold. The eggs? Meh. The sausage patty? Straight out of a McDonald’s breakfast bag. (No, seriously) Ironically, the only thing that tasted decent were the home fries and they cost extra! I guess even disappointment comes à la carte here. The only redeeming factor was the friendly staff. Truly kind people stuck in a tragic breakfast purgatory. In summary: DON'T EAT HERE. Las Vegas has better places to grab breakfast. I should have just gone to McDonald's where at least my expectations are curbed. Don't waste your appetite or your five bucks on this sad, sad café. I truly have no idea how this restaurant has 4 stars average. It's the worst.

Don’t get the pho. It tasted like bullion with five spice made with Phad Thai noodles. Meat was chewy. I also got hash brown and bacon. Bacon came out cold like it had been made in a big batch ahead of time. The menu is too big that I think the quality is low. Server insisted I sit at a 2 top near the kitchen even though no one was in the restaurant and there were plenty of seats which is annoying. Also they don’t like you to split the bill. The $5 breakfast is eggs toast and one side which seems like great deal since you can’t get anything for $5 anymore Pretty basic no frills place. I wanted to try a new small spot but I should have just went to dennys The music in the casino was loud and kept cutting out like someone had it connected to Bluetooth but they were a tad out of range so the music kept cutting in and out which was very annoying since it was on full blast. Also they take cash or debit only. No credit cards cause they’re cheap about fees Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, American food; this place tries to do too much

My wife and I were staying at the Strat, and their cafe didn't have what we wanted. We walked across the street to 5 Dollar Cafe. The place looks a little rough around the 6 that shows the place has been around for a while. We sat immediately after walking in. The dining room was small with a no frills approach. The menu had a lot to offer and several different styles of food. My wife opted for a chicken stir fry while I got their meat loaded omelet. Both dishes arrived together and were hot. The stir fry and rice filled the entire plate. The flavor was enjoyable, veggies were fresh, and the rice was cooked properly. My omelet arrived exactly as the menu described. It filled the majority of the plate. The meat and eggs were cooked together perfectly. Although the omelet didn't need it, adding hot sauce complimented it. Good service, good food, and great prices are a winning combination. I'd definitely return again.

I've lived within 300 yards of this place for a year and have been passing by regularly for going on 4 years since it's a block away from our favorite staycation location- Sahara Las Vegas. I finally had breakfast here and I've gotta say the food was GREAT. After almost 30 years in San Diego, you get used to having your breakfast burrito made a certain way from your favorite taco shop. Until now, I have been unimpressed with taco shops here in Vegas. I still am, I guess, since this place is not a taco shop- which makes their execution of a darn near perfect breakfast burrito even more impressive. Fresh ingredients, massive in size and plenty of Salsa Verde on the side. Staff was friendly and efficient, The place is clean. Food was delicious. Only downside was the usual suspects that gather around outside the entrance either asking for a cigarettes, getting loaded, or participating in activities that will eventually kill them or find them in jail eventually. More recently there has been a security guard posted out front who has definitely made a positive impact in those folks relocating. I Will...

I’m writing this right after leaving this restaurant. We ordered and got our food fast and every thing was decent on that end. My friend got up to use the restroom and had to ask for a key to get into the restroom. She thought there was a sign in front of the women’s restroom saying it out of use so she tried to use the key to get into the men’s restroom. Another customer came up to her and told her she can’t use the men’s restroom because she’s a woman and she tried to explain that the women’s was out of order and just needed to pee. The customer pushed and tried to get the key out of her hand. She went up to the security guard and told him that the man pushed her and was keeping her from using the restroom and the security guard told her that he doesn’t make the rules and if she needed to use the bathroom she can walk across the street. She had us leave and was crying outside so I went back in to try to talk to a manager or owner. I spoke with another worker who told me if one restroom was out of order she can use the mens but did nothing besides that, didn’t talk to the security guard...
