Worth the trip for this iconic view. The hotel itself has most likely seen better days. I took the monorail to Sahara which looks and smells wonderful. The walk is just 5 blocks or so away. I would not stay but the view‘on top of the world’ is very much worth the trip. Since I not a dare devil it was perfectly of that the jump was not working but, there were some brave souls who ride the free fall needle up top. I was very content to just stand almost the wind outside. Initially, I thought it was an indoor viewing but, no you can go to 109th floor and walk out to see old and new Vegas. Once you get your ticket ( got mine in Groupon) you can go as many times until days end. It might be a truly nice sight in the evening. I was 1 and done. A trip to the shooting range and some time at Sahara could make it a nice day trip for early and late views without staying at the Strat. The hotel is not in a great area and even the air in the lobby is stagnate. Once in the elevator it is a bucket list ‘I was there’ thing to brag about. No car the monorail 3 day pass on my phone . It was nice to get and out of that part of Vegas. I started the trip after spa inside Linq. Never had to park a car. Lastly, unlike so many places in Vegas this sight was not crowded and you can enjoy the sights a breeze for a while undisputed. I got a little kick out of people watching those who cannot dal with heights were in and back...
Read moreThe Stratosphere is a great visit n place to look over the now, sprawling, city. The all day pass is great. The parking is a little rough: no cash; no credit-card as usual. But. The. App!// Now the restaurant is another story. After two recommendations, we planned to have dinner at the restaurant. No one mentioned reservations. We showed up at the floor at 1 min. Early. n they would Not let us off at the Restaurant! 1 min early. I said,, WHat! So we went down one n came up another elevator. THen we were told we needed reservations n the place was empty! " Ok. Put me at the bar, since anyway, it was $25 for the window table; n $55 min. Per meal! 🤔😱 Then the bar food was great. $$$! But. I got a dirty $5 piece of shrimp in my Shrimp Cocktail! The bartender had fun examining it in front of me, b4 returning it! Ohhh, they replaced it. I think,, n tossed one in the bottom of the bowl n sent it back!l. Not professional. BAd day in the kitchen n on restaurant floor. AND, Not busy when we left! High class price for the reception n service. I've done much better at Local restaurants, & this yr! Just not 900ft high! Try free tables for 65-70 min. for min. $55/ meal! Then, $5 for every additional 10.min. as long as kitchen can serve in...

If you add the price of entry to the SkyPod, plus the expensive parking fee, plus the cost of activities, this place can easily end up being $100/person. Buy your tickets in advanced, esp. for weekends. We went on Thursday evening, Aug. 24
There was a condescending, middle aged, (Hispanic?) female security guard who was power tripping because she clearly hasn't been laid down right in a very long time. She was stationed right before the guy who checks bags. She was very rude to my partner and I but we just laughed at her and went about our evening. The security check bags somewhat thoroughly so be careful about what you bring in.
I enjoyed a hot tea from the simple, convenient cafe in the enclosed SkyPod area. We sat on comfy couches in the more quiet area to the left of the cafe but noticed there was a more lively area on the right.
We were there during a tropical storm so, unfortunately, we could not go up to the very top of the observation deck. Still got great photos!
Over all the views were mostly worth the price and I recommend going during early sunset and watching the lights appear from the city at night. It starts to get busy at 8pm. Enjoy the...
