Great photo op! intended to welcome visitors to the city of Las Vegas. The city limits begin at Sahara Avenue, just south of the arches' location. Las Vegas Boulevard south of Sahara rests in unincorporated Clark County.
The 80-foot-tall arches were designed by Selbert Perkins Design and installed by YESCO, which operates the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign on the south end of the Strip.

It’s located right by the Strat. Northbound pics are taken from the sidewalk because you would have to jaywalk to the median to get a center shot.
Southbound photos are easier to get but still a lot of city objects that get in the way.
I would recommend night viewing and not going too far north of the sign because it gets a little sketchy.
