Update: Mgmt took care of the below.
We had a very mixed experience at this restaurant. We had spent the extra money to reserve a window view, which we got. But, the moment Sergio, the server, sat us down he said they were in a hurry, and that we needed to leave pretty soon, that they had other people overbooked at the restaurant, and even pointed to another individual who might ask us to leave early. I reminded him that we paid the extra money for the nice view seats, and that we were celebrating my 66th birthday, and I wasn't going anywhere early. Immediately, that set us off on the wrong foot with Sergio. After ordering drinks, we ordered their large seafood tower, the most expensive thing on the menu. However, Sergio was worried. He said, I don't know, that takes a long time and I'm not sure we have the time for that. He ran off to check something, and came back and said that was okay. That wasn't okay with us! Aren't we supposed to order whatever we want off the menu? Anyway, when we received our meals, we were horrified. We had ordered two New York wagyu steak dinners and one rack of lamb. First of all, there was no rack of any lamb. It was just two double bone lamb chops. One was overcooked, and the other one was undercooked. The worst part was with the New York steaks. They seemed more like chunked and formed meat, not real steaks with any grain at all. It was rubbery gristle, much like the sole of a shoe. Our knives had an extremely difficult time cutting through them, so you could imagine what it was like to try to chew it. This was the lowest quality, below commercial grade, meat I have ever been served in my life! There's absolutely no excuse whatsoever for any steakhouse on the planet to serve meat like this, let alone a high-end place like Top of the World. Utterly disgusted with the meat, we had asked for the manager, Kim, to come over. We explained to her how the lamb was over and undercooked, how the mushrooms were burnt, and how our steaks weren't even real meat. I had even asked her to take a bite to prove to her that we weren't making anything up. She stood there nodding her head as if she already knew about the quality of those steaks. She offered to bring more steaks. So, my wife asked for their regular dry aged New York and I asked her to tell the chef to serve me the best steak they have in house. The replacement steak my wife got was excellent, one of the best steaks she's had in a long time. The 3-in thick bone-in filet mignon I was served was superb, nearly the best steak I've ever had. So, what went wrong? Why didn't we get good steaks in the first place? Why did our server want us to leave the moment we sat down? He basically ignored us the whole time, I guess figuring that we weren't drinking alcohol so his tip wasn't going to be very large, I don't know. Obviously he was upset at us from the moment we walked in, for no known reason. I handed him a Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card to pay the bill, and he stopped and said oh no this might cause a problem. I might have to wait for the bank to call us back, or maybe you have to call them to authorize this. Sergio had no business implying I could not afford the bill, or what my business was with my bank, or what my limits were. This really upset me to the point where I started shaking. What the heck was he thinking? We all decided that Sergio did not earn anything from us. So, after we left the restaurant, he chased us down to ask where his tip was! Can you believe that? We were at a secondary exit, difficult to find, and he chased us down to ask where our tip was. I reported this to Kim, the manager. At this point I was infuriated. All she did was to offer me a refund of the $25 seat fee that we had paid for the nice view. Nothing else. I think Sergio needs to be fired, or at least retrained. Kim needs to learn customer service. There's no reason to ever return to this restaurant. Who knows what garbage they will initially serve under the guise of luxury food. How many people were served those rubber steaks, and didn't...

Itâs been about nine days now and thereâs been absolutely no response from them. I donât understand what the point is of asking me to reach out and to stress how important this is to you when you donât even reply within seven business days if you actually took my review seriously you wouldâve replied sooner.
1rst Update: itâs 12 hours later and my husband is still throwing up. He could barely eat all morning. Just thought anyone eating here should know. The people we spoke to at the local cafe said they ate the sirloin steak and were ok but I wouldnât risk or take your chances with this place.
My husband booked this restaurant in advance for a romantic dinner on top of the strip and to see the views.
While they were breathtaking, we unfortunately suffered severe food poisoning after eating our meals there. My husband had the wagu steak which came with an option to add only with grilled onions or peppers on top which were extra money which I think is so ridiculous⊠itâs literally a garnish at best. We had the midnight madness cocktails which tasted off. We both had two and the first one was a lighter color than the second. They also tasted completely different. The menu was comically huge and on a wooden placard that made for a really awkward dining experience. You have this tiny table with almost no space for your food or drinks. Then you have ridiculously long drink menus also on stiff boards that almost knocked down our wine glasses. I had one of the female waiters come by and give me a dirty look and instantly put it back down when I tried to make space on the table by standing it up.
The food was so overpriced for what you get. The steak my husband bought tastes gamey and honestly rancid. For 85$ you think youâd get a better taste. The free bread was ok but too heavy on oil and butter and the knives were useless to cut it with. The meal I got was a beef brisket special for the national rodeo competition thatâs happening right now. It was 56$ and came with âcrispyâ potatoes that ended up just being 4 russet potatoes that were unseasoned and mushy. We ordered a side of carrots since my husband didnât get any with his overpriced steak. We got the brown butter carrots with feta. They looked decent but were undercooked, under seasoned, and not worth the price.. yet again. It was weird because for buttery sides you expect soft flavourful carrots. Not ones that make you feel like a rabbit.
The dessert was a crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e espresso it was great and probably the best part of the meal. It was overshadowed by how dirty the table was and how one of the servers came by to clean food up with her HANDS. I didnât see her wash them at all which was extra gross đ€ą
To add to that I noticed my brisket was really fatty and inedible mostly except for a few parts which were really salty and mid at best. I felt sick after a few bites but thought maybe I ate too much. Unfortunately that was not the case as my husband and I ended up with food poisoning all night until 5am. We threw up, used up all our toilet paper (you get the idea) and were sick all night.
We didnât eat or drink anything after that restaurant so itâs definitely not our fault.
Overall, for 300$ you would expect a lot better service and food. The photos we got were overpriced too. 92? For a âbookâ of photos and half were decent and the other one they tried selling was a joke. The photographer was nice though.
The waiter we got was sassy but also nice, he had character. He rushed my husband a few times which annoyed me since we were there to have a romantic experience. Overall it was romantic because I was there with my love but this restaurant needs either a new chef or to double check if some of the BOH staff are actually practicing safe food handling because what we experienced after was so awful.
Never going back and DO not recommend just go to the inside observation deck to see the view and save yourself the toilet paper and punch...
Read moreThis experience was absolutely horrific, disgusting, disturbing, and distasteful. My wife and I chose this establishment for our wedding reception dinner on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, expecting a joyous occasion with our loved ones. However, from the moment we arrived, we encountered nothing but disorganization, miscommunication, and outright disrespect.
Despite having reservations for 21 tables, we were denied entry due to an alleged time constraint. We only intended to take photos at the observatory, but we were still refused access until 30 minutes before our reservation. On top of that, we were given conflicting information throughout the nightâsome were told that once we were seated, we could explore the observatory, while others were informed of a strict two-hour time limit, after which we would be escorted out by security.
As we were finally allowed to go up and tried to find our seating, an elevator employee rudely dismissed our directions, despite us being told by staff which floor to go to. She had the audacity to say, âNo, itâs not that floor. Itâs this floor. I work here. I know what Iâm talking about.â Yet, she took us to the wrong floor, forcing us to waste time figuring out where we were actually supposed to be.
When my wife and I stepped away briefly for pictures, my family members were seated. However, when they later came up to join us for photos, the restaurant attempted to seat two different parties at our paid-for table, despite our reservation explicitly listing seven seats. Fortunately, some family members remained behind and were able to prevent this from happening. It was baffling and unacceptable that the restaurant would attempt to give away our reserved seating.
Adding to the frustration, we had requested all our tables to be placed together so we could celebrate as a unified group. Yet, only about half to three-quarters of our tables were near each other, while the rest were spread across different levels.
The mismanagement continued when we finally found our section. For no apparent reason, the restaurant kept seating other parties in our area, despite having multiple floors available. When I questioned the manager, Brian, about why this was necessary, he repeatedly dodged my question and provided no justification.
What made this experience even more unsettling was the consistent mistreatment of our guests, many of whom are people of color. Several attendees who arrived separately and provided the Willis name for our reservation were met with blatant dismissalâsome were told there was no party under that name, while others were falsely informed there was no available seating. Multiple guests had to escalate complaints to management, and some even had to request refunds for tables we had already paid for due to being relocated or having their seats wrongfully given away.
This was supposed to be a special, joyous occasion for my wife and me, surrounded by family and friends. Instead, it was tarnished by an appalling level of prejudice, disrespect, and mismanagement. Despite lodging complaints, neither my wife nor I were ever contacted for follow-up, compensation, or any effort to rectify this disgraceful experience. This establishment clearly does not value customer service or basic decency.
I would strongly advise against anyoneâespecially people of colorâconsidering this restaurant. The treatment we endured was unacceptable, and I wouldnât wish this...
