Very rude staff, I simply was asking about availability; I am bringing my own ammo and pistol (and was listed as being a place that allows this), the customer service rep said she said she had no idea if I would be waiting hours, and didn't know any sort of schedule regarding "bring your own" lane availability. She said they only allow it during certain times and hours when she answered, but it seems that she was very irritated at having to explain that to me for whatever reason, she was mad because I did not know the process of how they do things. She said IF they had a range safety officer available, I would shoot after the group package people went through the training, but she had no idea when those groups were going to shoot that day. So potentially, I would make a trip out there and sit for hours, without knowing if I would be allowed to shoot. She did not seem to know the schedule of those groups at all, and was very rude about explaining that. I simply wanted to pay as a customer and enjoy the range, but she did not seem to facilitate the process, perhaps it's catered more to people who pay the package prices? I'm not sure, but it did not want that treatment, I'm an Army veteran, and my money should warrant respect just like any other, whether I'm paying a package or bringing my own. Needless to say I will never come here wether for a package or private shooting. Nor will any other person or veteran that I know. PS: The ridiculously childish response from the business is all you need to read to get a feel about this place. Also, only mentioned being a vet with 2 words, along with wanting equal treatment in the same sentence for context, and he responds with "don't throw your vet status around", then proceeded to throw the supposed vet status of his staff as well. Sounds like a terrible time for a Veteran, will you also be upset if I mentioned I'm a veteran at the range? Look elsewhere! There are a lot of ranges in Vegas, not looking to argue with immature staff members that can't take criticisms that are valid, I ONLY wrote this because I was treated rudely over the phone, didn't know I had to "earn" respect.... how would I do that in this case, by writing a fake positive review?? If you're a REAL veteran be warned! A possible cesspool for grunt style shirt wearing wannabes, drinking black rifle...
Read moreWe went there while on our trip to Vegas for my 40th birthday. We are from Canada so were very excited to try this out since we don't have acces to many of the guns available at this range.
It started with a free pick up directly at our hotel on the strip. Communication was on point because all the info was in the email I received when I booked the transportation on the web site. So we quickly found the van (that was marked) and the driver. Our driver was John, who also happened to be our range officer. So it was a great introduction. John was amazing from start to finish. The best range officer / shooting instructor I had the chance to work with. He knew is stuff, was a great teacher and also an army vet.
So John took us to the range and on the way there started explaining the next steps so when we got there, it was pretty simple and the only thing left to do was to check out the "menu".
After payment, the stuff was prepared and we got the safety breifing before going in. There was almost no waiting time. The range is not HUGE, maybe 5 lanes, but it was plenty. I prefer this to a big range with like 12 lanes. For each gun, John explained everything and let us manipulated it before inserting a mag and give it back to us. Like I said, He was a great teacher since my wife never holded a gun before, and she did amazing with a glock, an mp5 and a M4. and she shot some of those in full auto.
They let you film and take pictures. I strongly suggest you do to keep those amazing memories. He even took the time to let us take pictures with the guns (cleared) before switching to another one. So you can do all your James Bond poses.
After the whole shooting, I hade time to pick up a few souvenirs from the shop and John took us back to the hotel.
All in all an amazing experience. The place is sharp, clean, and they are professionnals. One of the best moment of my whole trip to Vegas.
If I go back to vegas with the boys, I will go back there for sure and "request" John again. A master of his art, but also able to work with rookies and able to make you feel home.
Thanks again for your service, and much love...
Read moreWhat a blast! (Sorry for the pun) Cannot recommend this club enough. I booked up late for this and still got a slot 2hrs later even though they were busy judging by the amount of customers there when we arrived . We were picked up by Eric right on time although it was a late booking and we were straight away made to feel welcome and at ease and with free cold water offered. On arrival we were welcomed by the girls behind the desk and who made the registration and picking of the package nice and easy. My wife and I were total novices so we went for the 4 high calibre hand gun package. Now to be honest I was a little nervous having never handled a gun before but then we were introduced to Spencer our instructor who took us through the safety aspects and range protocols whilst all the time putting us at ease and keeping an element of fun involved. He gave us an explanation of each gun, the stance and the grip to use. We finished with my wife firing a .357 magnum whilst I got the Dirty Harry .44 magnum. Video and photography were encouraged. After having shot our guns and were off range we were told we could have a proper picture taken if we wanted ( no pressure to do it) . I decided to do it and we were offered the guns of our choosing. I went for the " say hello to my leetle friend " M16 and got what may be the best photo of me and my wife on our holiday. After picking up our photos we were then driven by Eric to a destination of our choice (within reason) to continue our day and upon drop off had 2 bottles of cold water forced upon us of which we were very grateful for by days end. If your nervous Don't be , if your novices, Doesn't matter. Go to The Strip Gun Club and have an...
