This has been 1 of my favorite bars since I was 21 I am 33 now! I have wanted to write this review for so very long but help back because I was made to feel ashamed by the manager who had been running the bar for years Even though this review is years later I still think about how horribly I was treated here The staff had always been so friendly and accommodating to myself and any of my friends that I brought with me, including the manager who abused me I severely cut my tongue one evening from a piece of glass that was in my beverage I was not using a straw, I was drinking straight from the glass I still have a problem with the nerves in my tongue where the cut occurred It was deep enough to even leave a small scar tissue that I can still feel to this day! I wish I would have taken pics of all the blood and the cut but the manager was so caring and nice the night the incident occurred that I didn't think to do any such things at the time The manager promised that any time I EVER came back from that point on they would take 100% care of myself and whomever I was with Well I pulled that 1x since that evening When I came in with a friend to use that card for the 2nd time only ever the bartender let me know that the same manager whom made this promise to me had said that he would not be taking care of me The manager proceeded to come over to my friend and I and literally shame me, embarrass me and be little my character He explained out loud in front of my friend that he was not going to take care of anything else for what happened to me :( his tone was super rude and offensive My friend doesn't ever want to return...
Read moreTo start on a positive note, the bar is absolutely gorgeous. I've been stopping by here and there for the last 2 years and have had a great experience until now. Went in on Wednesday, October 3rd. Ordered 3 shots of Fernet, the bartender didnt know how much it cost so he just said $36. Working at a bar myself I said that was completely redicules and he just said that's how much it costs. I figured maybe it's a downtown pricing thing and just let it go. Then my group and I ordered 3 rounds of gimlets. The first round cost about $24 which was reasonable. Went up to get the second round and it was a bit more. Didnt want to say anything just in case we got a "deal" for the first round. Then when my buddy got the third round of gimlets the bartender said it was $32. We were all disgusted by the amount of guessing that went into the pricing, but still respectfully tipped, being bartenders ourselves. It will be a while before I return after feeling so cheated by the bartenders working that night. This was an incident that occurred one time in my many great visits I've had here, but I cant help to feel so taken advantage of and embarrassed that I told my friends to meet me here because I insisted they had to...
Read moreIt has an updated Old World edgy flair. Rustic, hip, intimate atmosphere yet great for friends and groups. Very warm and comfortable with lots of beautiful period style framed European paintings. Fantastic and elaborate brick vaulted ceilings which compliment the open fireplaces with circular surround flagstone seating and cozy tables for seating between the fireplaces also. Beautiful bar. Stunning architecture. There were 4 of us and we stayed for hours because.... there also just happened to be a magic show in a Back Room that Wednesday (and every Wednesday) on a very snowy winter night - yes...it was dumping snow in Las Vegas. The magician, Dan Sperry, is the complete eerie contempory ethereal Gothic package. The show was packed for this spooky & funny entertainment. A MUST see Magician in a MUST see BAR. And... a great sound system...
