This was my first time at Top of Binion’s although I’ve tried several other steakhouses in the area. This one is definitely old school which I was totally expecting. The interior is clean but hasn’t been updated for decades. The wait staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. I’m only giving them 4 stars instead of 5 for service because I’ve been to other steakhouses where the service was absolutely impeccable and Binions did not blow me away in that category but they were still very good. My husband and I shared the 10 oz ribeye which was more than enough for us. I did like the fact that the entrees came with sides including a vegetable and your choice of potato or risotto unlike most steakhouses that charge you for each side. Since we were sharing a steak we added the split fee of $20 so we were each able to have our own sides. We both chose the risotto which was made with parmesan cheese. It was extremely good. The steak was very flavorful. My husband started with the French onion soup and it was really good. The broth was nice and rich and very flavorful. I had the lobster bisque and wasn’t overly impressed. They serve it table side and pour the soup over a small crostini with a small amount of lobster on it. I was disappointed compared to other lobster bisques I’ve tried. It was pretty bland and had a tiny amount of lobster. It was also lukewarm so the crostini underneath never got soft enough to eat. For the price I was really expecting more. They provide warm sourdough bread as a starter with regular and garlic butter along with a few sea salt options which was pretty unique and tasty. They served a small cup of lemon sorbet as a palate cleanser before our main course which was a nice little touch. For desert I tried the Baked Alaska which was strawberry and cherry ice cream on top of sponge cake covered in meringue. They toasted the meringue with a torch tableside which was nice but the meringue was on the softer side leaning towards whipped cream rather than the nice toasted meringue that I was expecting. It was a nice size portion but nothing I would have again. All in all, this is a cool old Las Vegas steakhouse with nice views especially in the evening but I think it was a bit overpriced for what...

Premium steak dinner, a “must do” for me on every trip to Vegas. I’ve tried so many of them. Binion’s has always been my one of my favorite. With its location in the grittier side of town, the smoke and worn carpets of Binion’s Gambling Hall, which you must walk through to get to the restaurant, but with classically great steak at slightly lower off-strip prices, and that 24th floor view, it’s a classic “old Las Vegas” experience. I am saddened to report that my March 23, 2019 dinner was disappointing enough that I will probably never go back.
The restaurant called us at 8:50 pm to say that the table for our 9:30 reservation was ready. We were seated immediately upon our arrival at 9:30. We ordered some classic cocktails and started perusing the menu. Upon delivering our drinks, our server pressed us for meal decisions because, as he said, the kitchen was closing at 10:00. We would have liked some more time to chat before dinner. But we knew already knew what we wanted so we went ahead and ordered. The steaks were delicious and precisely cooked to order. The sides were OK, but nothing memorable. By 10:15, our waiter was pushing us to order dessert because “the pantry was closing.” We declined because we weren’t even finished with our entrees. Suddenly, I put it all together: the early phone call, the pushy waiter, the fact that the restaurant was half-full on a Saturday evening. It was a slow night at Binion’s and the staff was anxious to leave!
At more than $400 for party of four, we expect to linger over drinks, take our time eating a delicious meal, and then enjoy coffee and dessert. In retrospect, maybe we should have followed others’ advice and dined at Andiamo around the corner. Even at the luxury hotels, where the tab would have been $500+, we would have enjoyed the experience we came for.
There are so many high-end steakhouses in Vegas. I’m sorry Binion’s, but with so many choices, I can’t take a known chance at being disappointed...
Read moreSuper cute, old school Vegas vibe with wonderful views. The food was excellent and I cannot praise our servers enough. I booked this place for our wedding rehearsal dinner for 18 people and I cannot rave enough about the outstanding and friendly service from all of the servers we dealt with. They were GREAT! The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because the manager seemed rude and always sounded like we were inconveniencing him. Dealing with him on the phone he never had a friendly demeanour but in person he was even worse. We booked our reservation for 6pm(which we changed and originally wanted something later but the manager said we should make it earlier) - we obliged. The first members of our party arrived a few minutes after 6pm to be greeted with a “you’re late” by the manager instead of a smile and a welcoming. Usually there’s a 15 minute grace period with reservations and we weren’t that late so that was uncalled for. Also, when we walked in they separated our parties into two separate tables which was very odd for a wedding dinner. My husband politely asked the manager if we could simply move the tables together, but the manager made it seem like a huge deal and that it would be an issue with spacing and exits (it wasn’t whatsoever. If anything, we created more room by moving the tables together). Luckily, the manager agreed to move the tables together and it took his servers all of 20 seconds to move the tables. They didn’t even have to reset the table or anything. Anyways, after that, the manager never once came to check on our party to see how we were doing. You would just think someone working in a management role in hospitality would have a better and more charismatic personality. But I digress, again, the food was absolutely amazing as were our servers. You definitely won’t run into any issues if you’re coming here as a walk-in or with a...
