PLEASE READ. WORST CATERING SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT. I ordered the salad bar catering for 24 people and made it very clear that since the event was going to be outside, I would not only need eating utensils but serving utensils as well. I was assured 3 times that serving utensils would be included. At time of pick up, my husband asked again if there were serving utensils included and he was assured everything needed to eat and serve was packaged in the box. Upon getting to the event, there were no serving utensils. I personally called and spoke with management about my predicament of not being able to serve 24 people due to there being no serving utensils. I was told by managing “sorry, but there is nothing I can do about it.” Needless to say, that probably wasn’t the best response to tell a customer who just paid $311.00 for a catering service that we picked up. My husband had to go back to Costa Vida, while the food got cold, and upon arriving he was handed a bag of 30 eating utensils to which he had to explain would do him no good because he needed SERVING utensils. It was one of the worst customer service experience I’ve encountered. And for those looking for catering, there was NOT enough sweet pork for 24 people. I am the one who personally served each person and built their salad and I was pretty stingy on the pork because I could tell there wasn’t enough and I was right. Three people didn’t have sweet pork because we ran out. But they gave us three tins of lettuce double the size of the pork. The entire experience was ridiculous and I assure you, it’ll be a complete waste of money ordering...
Read moreThis is a great Costa Vida location!! The staff was very friendly and helpful (except for a weird snarky comment from the manager when my mom accidentally tipped $200 because their screen was so buggy when she was trying to type out the amount…he said “just make sure you’re careful next time” - she’s not dumb, she was trying to be nice and give a tip which most people don’t do at those types of restaurants so just be grateful! I don’t think she should’ve still given a tip after that comment but the guy who rang us up had been so kind and positive, she still wanted to) and the food was great and accurately prepared!
I really appreciated the portions they gave me, I didn’t feel like they were skimping on anything in my salad. I even asked for a little extra rice and tortilla strips and they didn’t charge me extra. The only thing I did feel a little jipped on was the tortilla I got with my small salad. When I first walked up, I noticed a container of tiny tortillas which I assume were gluten free (about 3-4” in diameter?) and then next to that they had their small (6”?) and big (12”?) tortillas piled up. On top of the small tortillas was a really small one (about the same size as the gluten free ones) and that’s the one they gave me for my salad so it was way tinier than the small ones are supposed to be! The guy who put the toppings on my salad even asked if I had gotten a tortilla bc it was so small you couldn’t see it!😅
But Costa Vida always hits the spot so things like this don’t affect my desire to come back too much. Just keep improving and keep having great...
Read moreback when Costa Vida used to be located next to the movie theaters I absolutely love going there after work with my mother. Our favorite is always the Sweet Pork burritos and we were never disappointed. Since this location is moved over to closer to the Layton Hills Mall I'm a little disappointed with the presentation and a few things have changed. For one thing the burritos barely have any meat in them they are more bean and rice than anything. When they smother the burrito it's dry on the outside as in they don't put enough sauce on them and then send them through that thing to melt the cheese to the tortilla. Another thing that I'm pretty disappointed in is the chips. The chips used to be absolutely delicious even 8 months ago at this location. They were fresh they had some type of seasoning on them they were crunchy and delicious. Today after leaving your location and we opened up those chips not only or some of them hard to chew there were some that were soggy full of grease. we ended up buying chips on the way home from a store because they tasted better than the chips that we purchased from this location. Overall I'm pretty disappointed paying $20 for two burritos and some disgusting chips. I don't know if it's because they have new crew members or perhaps it's just a younger crew working but the burritos have gone downhill from what they used to be. If I'm paying $20 for just a couple of items I sure hope they taste as good as they used to. I'm sad to say I probably won't be back to this location...
