I've passed by many times, but never at a time when a meal was asking to be eaten. I knew we would be in the area for a meal. With so many five star reviews, I felt that not eating here would be a disservice. The staff here is friendly. The locals obviously love it. We ordered a scone, some chicken strips with fries, and a spicy chicken sandwich with tater tots. The scone came out hot, with a huge scoop of honey butter. We wasted about half of the butter. They really don't hold back on the butter. The scone was fresh, soft, and delicious to the taste. We devoured it in about 5 seconds. It wasn't small, but we were hungry, and it was tasty. Dinner came a few minutes later. I considered getting the deluxe chef salad, but upon learning what makes it deluxe (the addition of sliced roast beef), I decided on other food. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with tater tots and chicken strips with fries. The chicken sandwich comes deconstructed, so make sure you are ready to put the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo on it. It didn't take long to see one glaringly important part of this meal. I found that I am not a local. Don't get me wrong, some of the food was good. The tots were crisp and as near ambrosia as tots can get. The fry sauce was meh. I ended up making my own with the leftover mayo, ketchup, cholula, and pepper. The chicken was flavorful, just not spicy. It was crisp and not overcooked. The bun was soft. The fries were, well, I think the picture speaks for itself. Overall, the locals love this place, so if generic diner food or scrumptious scones are up your alley, stop in. Next time, I think I'll give the breakfast a try.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem. My mom took me to it after I had read about it in a food magazine. When we ordered scones for take out, the wait was not very long at first I was wondering how long it took them to make it. As soon as I got home I had slathered it in the honey butter along with some jam. This is truly delicious, it is not big and only takes about the space of your plate. You can easily tell that the scones were a homemade dough and not something that was artificial. This dish is also perfect for a desert even though it was for breakfast. I had also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which the cheese was well melted into the bread. The bread was not crispy so it didn't make a mess like other grilled cheese sandwiches do. The tater tots that had came with it were not frozen and not too hot, they were the perfect size too. Over all this Cafe is truly something spectacular. If you ever have the chance to go there, you must. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

Sills. Scones. Pancakes. I could use a lot more words to describe our experience here and I’ll try my best to describe why you’ll make the drive and be thankful you ordered at least these 2 things… Scones. Now in my mind I pictured this dry triangular shaped brittle crumb creator of a baked good that requires at least hot chocolate to moisturize it to swallow. Our local friends said this is not the case for a UT scone, and OMG- just look at that fried dough delivered topped with an ice scream scoop of honey butter spread. The best parts of things to get deep fried and then topped with butter. Pancakes. This is a picture of a teenager that learned to ask more questions before ordering ‘a stack’ of pancakes. Yes! there were only 3 pancakes, and yes! there is a plate hiding under there and Yes! He did learn to ask in the future a simple question: so how big are these pancakes? These ones were an easy 10-11” diameter stack. Diner feel, quick and simple. Thanks!

Love sills cafe. I think they are one of the best in utah for breakfast/lunch diners. Great food. Reasonably priced. Very kind and attentive servers, most of which i think are local highschool teenage young ladies. Decent atmosphere.

Really my only critique is the atmosphere. They have grown far too busy, for such a small location, and small parking lot. They really should either franchise to more locations and take some of the load off this one, or get a bigger location. There are plenty of times where the wait is 30-90 minutes. We often go somewhere else because of this. Yes management, going to more locations is costly, but not doing so you are losing god knows how much potential business at this location. The other critique i'd mention is maybe the short hours they are open, but that's often the case for small diners like this.

Scones are the best we've ever had. So light and fluffy. Most places scones are dense, heavy, i'm not a fan. Pancakes are gigantic. Get a triple stack of pancake, it's enough as a "side" for a table of 8-10 to share. Little tip. Their pancakes as leftovers are pretty good if you fry them in a pan with butter. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Their sides such as sausage, bacon, eggs etc are all great. The eggs are the classic cheap style, with the slice of krafts cheese on top. Coffee is from the basic pot.

I hope they expand. We are located right down the street in Layton, But i think a location is maybe clinton, and or one in centerville-bountiful would relieve some pressure from this location, make everything a lot better. If they could do this, and keep quality, They could easily knock out Ihop, black...

Sills has entered the final stages of complete trash in terms of service, cleanliness, and organization. It is very sad to see the decline in the last 10 or so years. I have been a loyal customer and regular at sills for more than 25 years, since the old place and into the new. I have watched them decline and it saddens me and I am sure the old man is rolling in his grave watching this. today was my final straw, the service has gone downhill, we all know that, mostly due to the fact that they are losing their overall work ethic with the newer generation, but since they started closing on sundays, their regulars started moving their visits to other days. and they have now began ignoring people when they enter and stand right in front of them. Today, we entered, stood right in front of the girl checking people in, she literally looked right past us and took the people behind us. it seemed like she knew them, ok, fine, we wait for her to come back, and she looked past us again, and took the people behind us again. no greeting, no, can I put you on the list, no, can we get something for you, no do you have an order to pickup.....nothing, just complete ignorance. fortunately for us, there are dozens of options other than sills, Ramblin Roads is a great alternative and in some ways better. there are others and more popping up every week. for those of you willing to deal with the ignorance, great, but for everyone else that just wants to be treated like you should be at an establishment that has been in business for more than 40 years, try...
