10 family friendly activities in Loudoun County, VA There is a LOT to do in Loudoun County, VA! Luckily we tried them all for you and made this list of our favorites 👇 1. Treetop zip-lining tour at @empowervirginia. Great for big kids 8+ OR try the kiddo zip tour for ages 4-7. This was my 8 yo first time and he LOVED it. The staff was amazing and it was perfect for a first time (or experienced) zip-liner. 2. Have some fun on the farm at @greatcountryfarms with animals, family friendly games, giant jumping pillow, mazes, slides, and obstacle courses. Try the homemade apple cider donuts and grab a few Henway Hard Ciders made from apples on the farm! 3. Grab a mega milkshake or ice cream at @theyardmilkshakebar. These milkshakes are HUGE and next level, we loved the unicorn and the crookie. Plus you get a souvenir glass to take home! 4. Have some food and family fun at @lostbarrelbrew. We got a choose your own flight and tried all the appetizers, all amazing. Plus they have a huge outdoor area for the kids to run and live music on weekends. 5. Eat brunch and all the desserts at @morebetterbeer. Maybe some of the best food we had. Definitely go on a Sunday and take advantage of their brunch until 3 and check out the outdoor patio. 6. Go shopping in historic Middleburg. My kids were huge fans of the @playroomva toy store. 7. Play some golf at @topgolf. My kid LOVED this, it was our first time golfing. Plus their food and drinks were amazing! 8. Explore the many historic sites in the county. Honestly there are too many to list, we saw beautiful historic colonial buildings almost everywhere we went. 9. Grab some homemade pie and fresh made desserts at @momsapplepies. The Blackberry crumb was the BEST. 10. Take a hike on the Appalachian Trail to the scenic Bears Den overlook. About 1.8 miles, with moderate rocky terrain. My kids LOVED all the rocks to climb and explore at the overlook! So, which one are you doing first? @VisitLoudoun #LoveLoudoun, #locoaletrail

Updated... it has been a year since I shopped at this pie shop. I was in the area today, and instead of getting a whole pie like last time, I decided to get a few slices of a variety of pies instead. This time, I got the blueberry crumb pie, apple pie, banana cream pie and a small load of pumpkin bread. I had the banana cream pie when I got home, and it is PERFECT!! The cream on top is light and fluffy and has a perfect level of sweetness. It was delicious! I would get the whole pie next time. The apple pie and blueberry crumb pie were delicious! The blueberries were little and it would be great if there were more blueberries in the pie. I haven't tried the pumpkin bread. I'm so please with my purchase that I wanted to update this review and give it an extra star. I was in the area and decided to try their pies. I looked online and the Almond Amaretto Chess Pie sounded delicious. I parked by the door because it had a little shady area and I had my pups in the area. I mentioned it to the young ladies working there as I was walking into the store. The young ladies were so excited about my dogs and all were looking out the window looking at the pups in the car. That was cute. The young lady who helped me was very sweet... Very friendly and polite. I bought the Almond Amaretto Chess Pie, a peanut butter cookie, and a ginger bread cookie. After I got home, I tasted the gingerbread cookie... I was surprised that the gingerbread man wasn't cute. It was very soft but the flavor was very light and not sweet. It wasn't what I expected. I then tried the peanut butter cookie... it was kind of dry, but tasted better than the gingerbread cookie. I took a break before trying the pie. It looked so good, and it smelled very nice. I didn't know what to expect since I have never had this pie before. I cut a slice and the filling looked like thick yellow sugar paste. I took a bite and the crust was crunch and tasty but the filling tasted just as it looks... Thick yellow creamy sugar paste. It is sooooo sweet, toooo sweet for me. I won't buy any of these 3 items again. I plan on going back to try a traditional pie... The chocolate pecan pie. Hopefully, their traditional pies are more to my liking. The store has a lot of baked goods... Bread, muffins, whoopie pies, and a large variety of cookies and pies. They even sell pies buy the slices... I should try a slice before buying a whole pie!! They even sell pottery. The store is interestingly located at the center where the street split into one way to the right and left, but easily pulled into it's small parking area from either side. I like the exterior, kind of reminds me of a gingerbread house. I'm giving it 3 stars because I don't like all 3 items I bought. I love gingerbread, peanut butter and almond flavored baked goods. It is very disappointed that I don't like any of these :-(.

A cute family owned business with a large variety of desserts specially pies and muffins, cookies, truffles etc. they carry sandwiches and breads too. In addition to desserts and sweet treats you can find a variety of bottled drinks and whole bunch of other stuff like essentials oils, apparels etc. For Vegans, they have almond milk and it goes super well with the Iced Mocha Java. The local roasted coffee is super smooth, one of the best in the area. Totally worth ditching the Starbucks, Pete’s or dunkin. No vegan desserts though ☹️ They had vegan cookies but didn’t sell well so stopped making them. Hopefully more demand will encourage them to make some amazing pies with vegan twist. The people, yes had to write about them because the are genuinely nice, well informed and welcoming. Due to pandemic they restrict the number of people inside the store/cafe to 7. If you are in the are a must go place not just for coffee and the products but the vibe of a non-corporate cute lil place.

What a great place to get a pie in Loudoun Co. it’s a super small building and gets crowded east, and sometimes you have to wait a minute to get in - but it’s so worth it. They have every type of pie you can imagine from fruit to chocolate. Most of them they sell by the slice some are only available in whole pies. The staff is super friendly, and the pies are absolutely amazing. I can’t recommend enough the chocolate peanut butter or the blueberry. Of course the apple and cherry are also killer. They get super busy around the holidays so if you’re looking for a pie during the busy season try ordering ahead of time as the selection for a walk in it sometimes limited around the big holidays like Thanksgiving. Highly recommended, great place with easy parking.

Yummm, you can't drive by and not stop in. We got a variety of items to sample, you know purely for research. They were pretty good. My husband and I split: Raspberry filled heart cookie that was excellent. Sorry don't remember the name but you can't miss them. They are messy with power sugar but worth it. Next was the chocolate coconut macaroon. Again excellent and probably my favorite. Lemon bar, usually a favorite for us but it was missing a lemon punch. Tasted like artificial lemon and not real lemon citrus notes. Buckeye, who doesn't love peanut butter and chocolate. For me I couldn't eat my half as the ratio was off me for me a bit of too much pb to chocolate.
