Mad Mushroom — Restaurant in Lexington

Unfortunately I to was evidently expecting WAY TO MUCH from Mad Mushroom Pizza! I called and ordered delivery. First and foremost right off the bat the girl taking my order wanted to know how much of a tip I wanted to put on my card for the delivery driver! REALLY PEOPLE? REALLY! ? WOW!! I inquired about the toasted raviolis. Was informed they are baked in the oven not fried and come with a side of marinara sauce it was suggested that they are very good. Went on to to inquire about their salads. First ask about the antipasto salad. I wanted Green Olives NOT BLACK! Was then informed “ We ain’t got Green Olives.” Although it was listed on their menu as a topping. I told her I may have an old menu. So needless to say I placed an order for Toasted Ravioli and a small Grilled Chicken Salad. Total was $19.99. I did request a receipt be sent with my order although I did not receive that upon delivery either. Was excited about yummy toasted raviolis. Took my first bite and had to spit it out. It was freezer burnt and tasted absolutely horrible. The inside filling was still cold. WORST $10 bucks ever! Highly disappointed with that. All I could do was throw the whole order away. So onto the $10 grilled chicken salad! LOL!! A bunch of lettuce with a lot of fillers in vegetable form that is. I did find one small (VERY SMALL) piece of grilled chicken and yes yet again not only cold inside it was cold on the outside. Looked as though the frozen small piece of chicken was laid on top of salad to thaw. You could yet again taste the freezer burn on it also! So needless to say NEVER AGAIN WILL I WASTE $20 Bucks for frozen food. I’ll go to Kroger first and cook it myself at least I will know it’s HOT & FRESH and im sure not at a cost of $20 for the smallest portions! Then I look on my delivery box not only did they want tips FIRST OFF they tagged on a not VERY SMALL DELIVERY FEE THAT THE ORDER TAKER FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT! Come on MAD MUSHROOM YOU HAVE MADE...

Update 6/25/2024. The manager told me I am being blacklisted from ordering at Mad Mushrooms ever again because of their poor customer service. Check out my interaction with them after I tried to call them and they refused to make the order right and lied and said I was told the pizza was made incorrectly before I left the store. Just wow!

Update 9/23/2022: We received a $50 credit from an owner with an apology. Apology accepted. We used the credit for round 2 just to see if they got better and you know what they did. So maybe that day was just a fluke or a bad cook that day. This pizza was far better this time. So I think the note to self is, don't order in advance, just order when you are ready. We have now gone back a few additional times as well. No longer a 1 star.

Update 8/4/2022: As you can see in the comments the "owner" ask for more information via email. As of this date they still have not responded to my email sent that same day. BE WARNED this is not a customer friendly place when they mess up your order.

In one word, horrible! Look at this burnt pizza. Tried to get a replacement the next day but the manager Todd wanted me to drive back down there with the pizza. I sent him a picture and Todd refuses to reply.

I got a vegetarian pizza and the taste was horrible. It tasted like all the vegetables had been watered down and no. seasoning and zero flavor. By far the worst pizza joint ever.

Update: I originally posted a 1 star review with the experience listed below. Since then a representative at mad mushroom has reached out to me and sincerely apologized and credited my purchase that evening back to me. It’s a relief to know that there is someone there that still cares. When you get the pizza fresh it’s easily one of the best in all of lexington. The cheese is delicious and strings off each slice as if out of a commercial. If you are craving cheesy pizza loaded with flavor there isn’t a better place in town.

So I called in an order at 5:45pm today. I arrive at the restaurant at 6:00pm to pick my order up. I stand and wait for about 5 mins before I’m approached to pay for my pick up order. No problem. I pay and they say it will be about 4-5 mins. So I sit and wait. I have a 4 year old kid with me so I sit with him and play some videos for him. Well one video after another and yet no pizza. I understand they get fairly busy so I remain patient. Well about 40 mins later someone finally asks me my name again and then goes to get my pizza. My pizza was by then barely warm and not even close to fresh. There was no oops, I’m sorry, or attempt to make things right. This visit along with consistent lack of customer service lately is so far away from the mad mushroom Standard I’ve come to expect...
