*Update The manager requested they wanted to hear about my experience and they provided their email. I was very happy to hear they were willing to hear as I felt my opinion mattered however after two email attempts I have not received any response back but there has been updates to the reviews. As I stated before unfortunately I can not and will not return to Adobe Gilas in Rosemont.
I been here multiple times and have never experienced what I did a week ago. I came here on a Sunday afternoon the place was not busy at all but honestly when my cousin found hair in her food we should have left then. But they remade her food without any issues, my husband along with myself and my cousin ordered drinks where it stated drinks come in a souvenir glass. Nothing said we had to request that glass when we ordered the drink and it also didn't say it was an upcharge. When the drinks came all of us said that's the drink we asked for and the waitress said 1 sec as she was not sure so she went to the bar tender who advised that the drinks only come in that glass if we ask for it and it would be an upcharge. I stated that's ok. I ordered my food which was the elotes but the corn in the middle was cold so I asked another waitress (not our normal waitress) who brought my cousins food back that was remade because of the hair. If the corn is normally room temperature, we'll I had ask her a couple of other questions and because she seemed like she was in a rush I asked are you in a rush she said yes I said well can you get the manager. She got the manager who then came over we explained everything to him he advised that he would get us all glasses because the menu didn't specify. Well when it came time to leave, they gave 1 glass as the bar tender said no, the rushed waitress felt the need to go back and forth with me. When I stated instead of going back and forth to just go get the manager the bar tender said to me about being rude I said to her she didn't have to right to insert herself as she didn't know what happened with the waitress prior to coming over to the bar. When the manager came out her sided with his staff as I felt he should have come out to discuss with the customers first to explain that he had changed his mind to avoid the confusion between customers and staff. In my opinion this place new manager and or training classes and definitely a new bar tender. Our waitress who took our order from the beginning was nice and did not cause any issues. I will never go to this...
Read moreIt was my first time at this establishment. Every time I go somewhere new I observe the atmosphere, how the host greets a customer, how a waitress greets a customer, and of course if the food is good.
A good customer service experience is what brings me back, and trust me, I go to certain restaurants repeatedly because the service and food is top notch.
Now do I expect Adobe to be a 5 star restaurant or have 5 star hotel resort service? No. However, a person who decides to choose a server job should step it up a notch to get in the doors of 5 star restaurants that pay very very well.
First impression of my waitress was cold energy, no inviting smiling or anything. However I do like to be personable so she did warm up afterwards.
I ordered the al pastor burrito, I only ate half of it because it was TOO much meat inside. The meat tasted good, but the overall texture wasn't a fan of my palate. I should've just done corn tortilla tacos instead. The rice didn't taste like authentic Mexican rice, overall it was "okay".
I tasted my friend's garlic parm shrimp and that was good. I also had a mangonada margarita and that was by far the BEST margarita I ever had omg! I'd go back just for that.
I also mentioned to the waitress out of curiosity on why the straws were so small. Not sure if they ran out of regular straws or something but I felt like the waitress didn't like that "complaint" I was just curious that's all.
After she just went back to cold, never went back to the table to ask if we wanted more drinks, my friends and I waited a while, while all the waitresses were having a little pow wow talking and we just decided to leave instead. The energy felt like we weren't wanted there.
I really wanted another mangonada but that energy thru me all the way off. Maybe I am spoiled by hotel resort hospitality but I wish waitresses and servers would treat anyone like they deserve and are...
Read moreWe were a group of 5 that waited an hour outside in the cold last night. Once we finally got to the door they charged an entry free ($25 each). If they told us we would have to pay after waiting that long in the cold there’s no way we would stick around but since we went through the whole hour waiting we decided to just pay. Once we finished our night we were charged $500 for a few drinks. We tried to make sense of the number of people to the number of drinks ordered and it made zero sense. They usually give simple appetizers before an order so we requested a nacho plate and that was somehow too complicated to serve and we never got it. The whole experience made us feel like they were acting like Some high end downtown bar when it’s just a place to eat and have drinks casually in the Rosemont area. On top of that the waitress was tipped a very good tip (much over $100) and she was actually more rude after her tip which made zero sense because she had poor listening and communication skills and it took her so long to come back with our orders. Very trashy behavior, obviously. We never had this issue before but due to this bizzare treatment we will not come back to this wannabe upscale place. And by the way if you want to act so upscale at least have the service to match.
Update: Don’t know why the manager is letting me know they are trying to follow COVID regulations as if that’s the reason why they had to overcharge us and give us horrible service. Waiting in the cold for an hour is ridiculous but could be understood, paying $25 at the door after that however is not and neither are your overpriced watered down drinks, bad service, and generic music...
