As far as categories go and hotel reward programs I am Silver with Marriott, Diamond with Hilton, Platinum with Hyatt, Gold for life with SPG, and Spire with IHG. This is not my first rodeo. I checked into the Crowne Plaza, great staff at the front. Very knowledgeable, attentive and professional.
I was upgraded due to my status to a suite. Thank you. I was even given a drink coupon for a free beverage. Thank you.
I went to the bar, the male wait staff came over and he asked what I would like. I said I would need a menu. He gave me one. He came back with a pen and paper and asked what I would like. I said a Stella beer. He began to walk away. I said I wanted to put my food order in as well. He ignored me. He heard me which is evident by his comment later.
He went behind the bar (I was at a table), and poured a Stella and a few other drinks. He came back around and delivered the other drinks to a couple of couples also at tables. I told him I forgot, I knew earlier but he walked away. I said I wanted to put my food and drink order in together. I asked why he ignored me earlier and walked away. He said he was very busy and didn't have the time to take my order.
I stood up and told him I would take my business and money elsewhere. I stated that he was being unprofessional, I expected better and I thought he was a jerk. He actually said "I think the same thing of you".
I went next door to the Doubletree Hotel and had a pleasant experience. A gentleman and a lady at the bar (not together but two separate patrons) heard me tell the bartender what I experienced. They said they were staying at the Crowne Plaza as well and prefer to come to the Doubletree for dinner and drinks due to the rude staff at the Crowne Plaza...

Read moreBetter, IMO, than the 3.3 it currently has. It's got the usual spotty service you expect from most hotel bars but their beer selection is good (if not spectacular) and their food menu is solid as well. I still miss the old...
