Mountainside Cafe — Restaurant in Lincoln

I went there and got a latte with cold foam and a bagel sandwich. The sandwich was great and tasted good. I get the coffee and it was so watery and no cold foam on it. I ask to get the cold foam put on and they said no problem and gave it back with cold foam. 2 minutes later the cold foam is completely disappeared from my coffee. Its also so bubbly and light, not thick and creamy. I ask them to make the drink because the foam is gone and the drink just isn't good, and she says the foam will just keep disappearing since they're putting more air into it. I have gotten cold foam from tons of other coffee shops and it is supposed to stay on there, it doesn't just disappear. So it cost me almost $20 for the sandwich and a bad coffee I threw away. I went here with two others this past Monday (long holiday weekend) after seeing it recommended on an Instagram reel before leaf peeping. It was right in downtown Lincoln, cute atmosphere and simple décor. Prices were a bit expensive as it ended up being around $18 for two small coffees and a pastry, but the coffees were good and the pastry was alright.

This could be attributed to lack of staffing and it being a new cafe, but there was a line out the door and it took us about an hour and a half to order and receive our two coffees and pastry. There were only two people working despite it being a holiday weekend in peak foliage season (known to be slammed in these places). I may go back if it were not a peak holiday, but the prices & quality of food/coffee didn't justify the experience...

This café is the perfect spot to start your day or grab a midday pick-me-up. The açaí bowls and crepes are absolutely fabulous—especially with the build-your-own options, which I love! Their lunch sandwiches are super tasty, and they even have great choices for kids, making it a very family-friendly place.

The house-made pastries are divine, and the staff is always so friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.
