Ordered a pizza from home, for pick up. They stated it would be ready in 20 mins. I got there at 20 mins. The manager, Sam, was on the phone dealing with an issue. He did a great job acknowledging me even though he was dealing with an issue on the phone. After hanging up he checked on my pizza and encouraged the workers in the back to get me my pizza as soon as it came out. This was very thoughtful of him as it had been 25 - 30 mins at this point. He then had to deal with another customer who came in to complain about something. He spoke with that customer one on one and acknowledged their concerns. He was juggling 15 different things at once (not an exaggeration) and yet he remained calm, didn't get overwhelmed by everything, or take it out on any customers or employees. By the time I got my pizza it was maybe 35 - 40 mins after I had originally ordered (double the time they had told me over the phone). Sam apologized and offered me something due to the delay. Overall, it was very busy and hectic in there, and he was dealing at least 2 complaints while I was there, and yet he remained professional and calm the entire time. Under the same amount of pressure, I would have snapped at someone. Ha! He was very personably and had great customer service. I hope he is valued by the owner for how he manages overwhelming situations while remaining calm, cool and collected. You hired a great manager! I was in the store picking up a pizza when a guy, who was also in there picking up food started saying things to me that were making me uncomfortable. I grabbed my pizza and practically ran out the door because the guy asked me for a ride after I told him I didn’t want to “Netflix and chill” and was going to follow me to my car. The amazing young gentleman at the counter immediately caught his attention and told him to leave me alone and not to harass customers and gave me enough time to get to my car and drive away without dealing with the guy. I wish I would have caught your name but, Thank you thank you thank you! You didn’t have to say anything but I’m so glad that you did. Thank you for having such wonderful food and caring employees! Read moreAfter Papa John's screwed up my order for the third time, I called in to say they had not given me the amount of sauces I had paid for. "Why do you need that many sauces anyway?" the acting-manager asked. I justifiably responded "What does it matter? I paid for them." The acting manager said he "couldn't be giving out all the sauces or else there wouldn't be any for other customers" and that if he had taken the order, he "wouldn't have sold me so many sauces." I called the head-manager the next day about the incident to ask for a refund. He replied "I'll give you a refund, but I have a hard time believing one of my guys said that." The message was clear: "you must be lying to get free pizza." It was never about the money.
