Three of us ladies walked in one evening and went up to the bar. We browsed the menu that was there and it took quite some time to be acknowledged by the two male staff despite the fact that it was almost dead and closing wasn't for atleast another hour. The sign outside and the menu mentioned $6 drinks but we were told this only happened at happy hour. They had a very extensive menu but when we asked about drink options we were sharply told the only thing available was beer wine and shots. Within a minute of us looking at the drink menu one of the bartenders yelled "drink em if you've got them" making us feel as though since we did not yet have anything we were not welcome. There was absolutely zero friendliness or a crack of a smile from either of the people working there despite the fact that we were all very friendly and respectful. If the intention was to close early a simple sorry we are wrapping up service for the night would have been the most basic of customer service. We ended up walking out. Since we were in town for an LGBT conference and we didn't look like locals we thought perhaps this may have been discrimination based. It's impossible to know for sure but this experience left a very sour and depressing taste in our mouths for...
Read moreThis is my favorite bar of all time, and it's a whiskey bar at that! The sleek, dark, wood and leather interior keeps the place feeling sexy and mature. The music is never too loud and the movies they play over the bar are always good-time throwbacks. The bartenders are knowledgeable about everything whiskey, so if you walk in not knowing what you want, or a novice in whiskey period, they'll guide you through each drink to find your perfect match. And say you don't like it, no problem! They'll keep trying until they get it right, but they're usually spot on the first time. The bar food is sophisticated and delicious, and the bathrooms are always pristine. I love coming here with friends for a good, down-to-earth chat over some high-quality drinks. This is a great place to come to if you want the livelihood of downtown without the belligerence of the nightclubs. If you're there, ask for Brian or Alex. They're always friendly and make a great...
Read moreI walked in just before six o’clock yesterday (Wednesday) and asked the light haired lady working at the bar if I could sit at the bar and if this bar has a bathroom. She gave me a 5 second long blank stare of disgust and a very delayed mumbled answer. I have never experienced service like this in the United States or in the world. Might want to check on her as I’m not sure if drugs are involved. I kindly asked a simple question and got a condescending stare and a very delayed answer. Please look into this. The last time I came here I was served at the bar by a nice gentleman but this experience completely changed my view on this bar. I wouldn’t come back here. I didn’t feel comfortable with her serving my drinks and decided to go to another bar...
