Had a terrible experience last night. A friend was playing at Clancy's and we came to support him with our 3-years old son. We knew that we would not be able to stay long and that we would have to stay at the outside patio. When we arrived, the bouncer opened the patio gate for us, checked our IDs and told us that we would have to stay at the patio. Fair enough. I went inside to buy beer say hello to a musician friend. It took a while, as the bar was quite busy. I closed my tap in an expectation to have one beer and go back home. When I came back out, my wife was almost in tears in the parking lot. Apparently, the same bouncer literally kicked her out only moments after he let us in. I went back to the bar to talk to Richard, explained the situation and suggested that he refunds the drinks and we leave. He suggested that we finish the beers and then leave. I accepted. What a bull, though! Apparently, Richard was the guy who had my wife kicked out. Now, after bunch of abuse, we can suddenly do exactly what we came to do in the first place. This place has no clear rules in a very important area. It also changes its rules on the go. Not a good idea in a heavily regulated industry like a restaurant business where you need crystal clarity and consistency. It is also a recipe for a disaster if you give the bouncer duty to a guy who just had few drinks...
Read moreThe place is absolutely ridiculous. I came in on a Fri night to sing karaoke and drink a couple beers. Some goofy lady with blonde dreadlocks was the KJ and she really thought she was cooler than she was. I signed up on the list and noticed there was only five singers.....I was the sixth! I sat there ordering beers and tipping very generous I might add and watched about 15 to 20 singers. After going through the hole rotation I noticed a few guys ( that have already sung) up there singing again. There's no way a guy comes on after I sign up and then gets another turn over an hour later. The KJ obviously overlooked me or forgot or just blew me off....who knows. I walked up to the KJ table and asked if she forgot about me ? She asks what my name is and then looks at her list. I could see my name had a line through it and twenty names after mine with a line through half of them. She tried to assure me my turn was coming up but I explained I've watched two rotations and people lapping me. She just sat there with a stupid look on her face. I've got extensive karaoke experience and this has never happened. Sorry I wasted my money at this filthy...
Read moreWe went in on Sunday evening around 5 last week and there was a young, kind, and extremely energetic young lady behind the bar. The place was packed, but she almost immediately approached my girlfriend and me and took our order. Shortly after, the owner came out. (a grey white man) He charged towards her, slammed his hand on the bar, then hovered over her in a predatory circular motion as she tried to continue serving and screamed something at the value of, “No! I want it now!” He then sat at the bar and drank a bunch of red wine with whiskey, moved towards a couple of friends and continued by “silently” judging the surrounding customers. Props to her for maintaining her composure and serving well under serious harassment and abuse like this. Needless to say, we...
