Went out to lunch in Long Beach, and I was craving poke. I haven’t had poke since Hawaii.
Parking: We found metered street parking down the street and walked to the spot.
Ambiance/Environment: It’s a small space with some indoor seating and one table outside. It’s a very casual spot. Decently clean.
Service: When we walked in, we were directed to fill out the order sheet. You’d check box everything you want in your Poké bowl on the order sheet, but you can also order other items from the menu. The worker could improve on her professionalism, but she was quick & efficient.
What we ordered:
Large Poké bowl - 2 bases, 4 proteins, half brown rice & half spring mix, ahi tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, seared albacore topped w/ carrots, cilantro, corn, cucumber, edamame, pineapple, sweet onions, spicy house sauce, spicy mayo sauce, seaweed salad, crispy garlic, masago, sesame seeds, furikake. Everything tasted fresh! The bowl was also packed. My favorite proteins are the salmon and ahi!
Grilled Salmon Bowl - This had a generous amount of rice. I’d prefer another piece of salmon. Though, it was cooked well and the sauce was delicious.
Ramen - I noticed they had a ramen machine. We first purchased the ramen at the register and chose our toppings. Then we were given a bowl. It was very easy to follow the instructions!
Matcha Green Tea - This was supposedly their popular drink. It was decent .. I’d describe it as mediocre. Definitely not premium matcha. The boba tasted as expected.
Pricing: The Poké bowl was definitely worth its price. I really...
Read moreI really enjoy coming to Poke Bar, especially since it's just a short walk from work. That quick stroll over always helps build up my appetite!
The atmosphere inside is cozy with a fun, beachy vibe--imagine a mix of Hawaii and a laid-back Long Beach deli. Reggae music is always playing, which adds to the chill, welcoming feel. Love that touch.
As for the food--it's top quality. I usually go for the Build Your Own bowl with one base and two proteins, which is the perfect size for lunch (and I often have leftovers). My go-to combo is spicy tuna and salmon, and they pair perfectly with the fresh mix-ins. I top it off with their House flavor, Wasabi Shoyu, and Ponzu--such a tasty blend. Then it's time for sides, garnishes, and toppings. All that deliciousness for around $14, and I always leave full.
The service is great, too. The staff are local, friendly, and always up for a quick chat while preparing your bowl. It adds a nice personal touch.
All in all, this is a top-notch poke spot with reasonable prices, fresh and flavorful food, and a great vibe. I always look forward to my...
Read moreWow! I haven't been here since this place opened. My friend and I decided to come here after we were craving some poke after doing some yoga on the bluff. The cool thing about this spot is that there are lot more options compared to other poke spots. We decided to grab some poke bowls - one was mainly tuna/ahi tuna and the other was mainly a salmon bowl. I love how they have kale noodles as an option, if you're not feeling rice or salad. I also wanted to grab some hot plates to go for my husband. We grabbed a spam and egg plate and a grilled salmon plate, as well. Both were very delicious. I was curious about the ramen station, so I decided to make ramen too. They provide you with some soup toppings like carrots and green onions plus an egg. I thought the option was pretty cool. Overall, my friend and I had fantastic service at this location. Everyone was sweet and friendly. There's seating inside available, as well. Parking can be a bit tricky. There's parking meters and free street parking...
