I would consider myself a regular as I have frequented Tequila Jack's at least once every other week for the last three years; however, more recently, the service has gotten so bad I may cross this off the list of dinner destinations.
Over the last three months, I have seen the service go from bad to downright unacceptable. The errors have included everything from overcharging my credit by two hundred percent, forgetting to place orders in the kitchen, repeatedly bringing appetizers out after the meal has already been served, frequently failing to provide their signature chips and dip after requesting it numerous times, forgetting to provide beverages, silverware or condiments, and making themselves unavailable to get a refill on any beverage once you are lucky enough to get it.Generally, I keep my opinions to myself; however, after my last dining experience on Sunday, I felt I needed to write a review.
On that day, I sat at the bar, which is usually a good place to sit if you want quick service. After waiting 35 minutes trying to get the bartender's attention, I finally flagged down a busboy and asked him to get the bartender for me. That worked, and I was greeted by a bartender I did not recognize; I believe her name was Adriana. I noticed she was not very friendly, and she appeared to be avoiding eye contact with her customers.
I placed my order which proved to be a challenge as she kept performing remedial tasks before entering it in the computer and forgetting each time what I ordered. I repeatedly asked for chips, salsa, and a drink; however, that never came. The bartender appeared to be making herself a drink, chatting with other employees or hiding the corner which was the cause for the delays. Finally, when the food was done, I observed it sitting in the server's hot lamp for over 20 minutes. Adriana would make eye contact every now and again; however, she would look down and never come over. I finally got one of the food runners to get my meal and water, as getting a drink was impossible. Near the end of the meal, Adriana finally came over to check on me; however, at this point, I was almost ready to leave. I asked for a refill on the water; however, she forgot and started to do everything other than get water. She even restocked the lemons and limes at the bar.
Trying to get the check was equally as difficult as I had to ask for it no less than four times. Each time she would say she was getting it; however, she never would. She then misplaced my credit card and never provided a box for my meal. After two and a half hours of this nonsense, my meal came to an end.
The food is good which is why these experiences are so disappointing. If the food was average, I would have stopped coming a long time ago. My hope is Tachilia Jacks figures this out and fixes the problem. If they do not they they will start losing long-time customers...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE! Bartender manipulated bill for bigger tips! I’m not the kind of person to leave reviews this might quite literally be the 1st one I’ve ever left (due to negativity). I ordered 2 margaritas and some taquitos and quac on their happy hour on a Tuesday. Everything was normal and fine throughout service up until the bill came. Their margaritas are listed for $6 on happy hour and I noticed on my bill it was $13.50 each. So I asked the bartender if we were on happy hour pricing right now and he said they were but not for the “skinny margaritas” and I told him that I did not order a “skinny margarita” just a regular one. He told me that is what I ordered and said he would talk to his manager. He comes back and says his manager said they can only comp 1 of them. I reiterated that that’s not what I ordered and I have never ordered a “skinny margarita” in my life. He brings his manager over and I explain the situation to him and he sits there and argues with me?!? He says “I find it hard to believe that my bartender rung up the wrong drink” I reiterated to him again that I have never ordered a “skinny margarita” in my life. He asks why I didn’t send it back. So I told him “it is not my responsibility to know what glass a skinny margarita vs a normal margarita comes in and I’ve only been here 2 or 3 times”. He continues to tell me he finds it hard to believe his bartender rung up the wrong drink so I told him that the gaslighting right now is crazy and if the price on this isn’t fixed I will be walking out on my tab. He eventually comped the 2 drinks but I want to point out that that wasn’t my goal. My goal was to have the price on the happy hour honored and for a simple “I made a mistake” on the bartenders end to be recognized. The fact that a manager would sit there and argue with a guest like that is absolutely appalling and I will not be going back there because actually...
Read moreMy girl and I went to Tequila Jack’s restaurant in Long Beach, California for dinner and had the worst customer service experience I ever had. Our waitress Tiffany P. was not very attentive to us after she took our order .When we need anything we had to flag her down most of the time Tiffany was not even around. When my girl try asking for a refill Tiffany looked at my girl with an attitude and walked away, I was very upset and disgusted. I called when I left and spoke to the General Manager Oscar and told Oscar what type of experience that I had at his restaurant, Oscar apologized, and offered me and my girl to come back for a free dinner. I told Oscar that I did not want to come back at all and I just wanted my refund back for the dinner and Oscar to me that he they do not give refunds back for “Bad Service “I was shocked that Oscar was saying this to me. The next day I called and spoke to Erika “Mangers “who was very friendly and wanted to do anything to make us happy. I got a call later that day from Debbie the “Owner “ and she was telling me the same thing that Oscar was saying . I said that you can not force people to come back if they do not want to and Debbie said let me call you back which after 10 minutes or so Debbie stated that she made a call to the Owner of the restaurant and that they would refund me my money back. But the next day Debbie “Co Owner “ was back pedaling on give me my refund back and told me that they would not do anything for me . So please ( Beware) of this restaurant if you get bad service there basically telling you they are not going to help you. I will not return to this...
