VICTORY SHAWARMA — Restaurant in Long Beach

This evening my daughter and I went to a brewery in El Segundo because we read that Shawarma was going to be on the menu. Having lived in Amman, Jordan for a period of 10 years, we grew to love the food, especially shawarma. During a brief chat with Fadi and his wife Joyce, co-owners of Victory Shawarma, we learned that he was from Amman AND that he and his family had a shawarma shop in the neighborhood near where we lived. In further discussion, it became apparent that we used to frequent his shawarma shop in Amman! Is it a small world or what? There were many good shops in Amman, but his had the best tasting shawarma. So, how did his shawarma here in L.A. compare to Amman? After eating our chicken and beef shawarmas I told Fadi that the taste was, amazingly, a couple notches better than what we had in Amman....

After seeing the reviews, I have wanted to try out this food truck. I don't usually like eating from food trucks, but something about this truck made me anxious to try it.

I finally had the chance to taste the food. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

The menu had many good options, making my decision difficult, but the owner, Fadi, was very kind and helpful in helping me decide.

The portions at Victory Shwarma are more significant than I am accustomed to receiving when I decide to eat from a food truck or when I order food to go.

I ordered the OG Gyro Sandwich and Garlic Fries, and everything was nice, hot, and tasty.

Next time, I intend to order the OG Falafel and the Shawarma Bowl.

The drinks are kept super cold from being buried under a ton of ice.

Absolutely loved the food and experience at Victory Shwarma! Chased the truck down a few different times, but the owner was very friendly! It’s a small operation, and the few times I missed them, he told me they had catering and events which is completely understandable. Finally caught the truck last Sunday, and it was 100% worth it! The food was very fresh, with good quality ingredients and HUGE portions for the price. We ordered the beef shawarma wrap, and a half and half combo bowl with chicken and beef, half rice and half spicy garlic fries. Everything was delicious, and the owner even threw in a free drink and extra sauces since he was apologetic I missed them a couple times! Really nice guy, really good food. 10/10 will be back and definitely recommend...
