I did order takeout from Long Beach Taco Co when they first opened. They seem to rotate staff so I don't recognize anyone...I will not eat there again: White rice OK, beans in one area of the takeout container was cooked correct but sitting on the edge about 7 pinto beans (teaspoon size amount) hard not fully cooked but had been cooked together because the color was exactly the same, the Tacos I didn't like the seasoning only because I notice the multiple types of Spanish speaking Nationalities who have extended to the States, Country USA with the types of different taste to foods keeping the main ingredients the same basically: salsa (but watch the extra hot and extremely filled with seeds from peppers both can cause medical problems instantly or delayed irreversible), fillings of onions lettuce olives tomatoes chicken beef etc. But I do know the difference of Spanish vs Mexican. I believe perhaps here in USA some mix Spanish or Mexican seasoning with Cuban, Puerto Rico, Spain or perhaps mix Spanish with Mexican. Being of USA I usually have only eaten one or the other: Mexican, Spanish foods. For those who read or received notification the following review below is being retracted from Long Beach Taco Co...below is for another Business I will follow on another writing for, this is what Istated and posted here:In short over charge, delay meals to go while some is bagged and sit for cooling, customers are of multiple Nationalities so don't believe USA is their home country...rude and out of place...I am USA Citizenship none is equal...not foreign turned Citizen, seasoning is not mixed into ingredients but put ontop of cooked fillings (fried Taco filling and Burrito filling) like salt and or margaritas rim salt (tasted the sweet flavor with salt), get proper receipt showing example:amount paid 100.00 and change 25 cents with cash payment*what the hell is an $amount added to the total payment because "everything is prepared fresh"...I got a refund for close to $2.00...tomato lettuce onion is for being ready daily with cooking daily...I am not returning but said I will go to the market and get...
Read moreWorld class, really! Craft beer and real Mexican Cuisine. Tacos and craft beer! Excellent idea, but try the chef’s entree creations, too. Ate here two nights in a row during my brief stay in LB. Quesie Birreta Tacos with optional dipping sauce. Fresh fried fish tacos with siracha. Next night tried an entree size egg dipped and fried Chile relleno. Fresh stem-on roasted poblano, stuffed with melting cheese, wonderful tomato sauce topping over rice, add 1/2 dozen large peeled shrimp! I was stuffed. Atmosphere, service top notch. Excellent patio experience, not in the street, but on the broad sidewalk. I dream they add tequila and expand next door and beyond.
Edit a year later…I wonder if they have new owners or management. I don’t recognize anyone and the food has slipped. What Mexican restaurant serves white rice? I had the chile relleno again and the presentation and care had suffered. In addition to the white rice issue, my chile relleno was overcooked. The shrimps were many, but they too, were overcooked and rubbery. Get this, instead of multiple shrimps carefully cooked and placed proudly on top of the chile, these rubbery ones were hidden in the sauce. I lost count, there were so many. It’s as if the cook was ashamed of them. I’m suspicious that the sauce has changed, also. It wasn’t fresh and tomato ey. Here’s hoping that someone in charge pays attention. p.s. the wait staff on Monday night was great, not so much on...
Read moreEk, I wanted to love this place. This is not a fast food restaurant, it is made as order. So I already knew that the food would take some time to get to us. We ordered the guac to start, the chips would have been great if they were fresh/warm. The guac was good itself, but the chips were lacking. I ordered the pineapple jalapeno margarita and we also got a few beers, each was delicious in their own ways. Our waitress did forget our waters, but brought them swiftly when I reminded her. My boyfriend ordered three tacos, I ordered one. When our food arrived he only received two tacos. I had to ask the waitress about the third one, which didn’t happen until he was almost finished with his two tacos because she didn’t come back around to check on us. The tacos were tasty though. It took awhile to get our check and even longer to pay our bill because our waitress wasn’t around to flag down. This restaurant is a small location, so it should have been so difficult. We ultimately ended up getting up and going to the “to-go” counter to ask another waitress to charge my card, but she even seemed bothered. All and all, a good place for food, if you have time to wait. I think the service is lacking but with proper training, this could become a “Go to” place...
