We ordered and paid with cash and we're not given a receipt. We went to find a table and because of our party of 3 and the signs everywhere saying not to move the chairs we had to sit at a barrel type table for our meal. The barrel was uncomfortable because there is no leg room. Once we were seated we realized our change didn't add up and I went to get a receipt from the lady at the counter. She said she couldn't give me a receipt because she didn't know which customer we were in the system. I explained we were her last customer and gave her a run down of the order. She printed a receipt and when I questioned why she rounded the change in favor of the establishment and not us as the customer she told me it was due to the change shortage and that shorting us just a few cents wasn't a big deal.

If you are unable to provide proper change, the customer should not be the one taking the loss. Shorting customers even a small amount can add up to a fair amount of undocumented income for the year. It may be a small thing but I think it reflects big on the business.

The lady seemed to also have attitude with another party who ordered several drinks.

Contrastingly, each of us enjoyed our meals very much. If you try this place, I'd skip the service and atmosphere and...

Edit I was curious what kind of response I would get based upon when we were at your establishment over the weekend.

Both me and my wife's family came in as y'all were one of the few places that could fit all 12 of us. The person taking our orders/behind the bar was one of the rudest people I've had in a restaurant. Whether it was questioning why we were all there for our wedding (it was our wedding weekend) and it being an awful place for it, to not helping pick out drinks, to straight denying drink service to someone who is out of state because of vertical ID (which is totally fine ID by the way especially when everyone else has already gotten drinks), and just complaining that we were there. Like I get it to a point with "tourists" and a group of 12 coming in unexpectedly being hard on staff and kitchen. Still she ruined our time there and was the talk of everyone afterwards as I'm only sharing my negative experience and not everyone else from the party of 12. I don't know what it was about her or us but this seems like a place to avoid.

Also, commenting on every review and not understanding that reviews can come in days, weeks, months after someone...

Really cool pirate and nautical decor, decent meal, but the service was not there at all. The fish and chips was also very small fish portions when compared to other spots nearby.

We had no issue with going up to the counter and ordering our meal. But the person taking our order seemed to jump on us about weird things and came across as unwilling to serve us. They seemed to take some issue about how we didn't pick out a table before we ordered. And then assumed that we weren't ready to order so we should go look at the menus at the front of the restaurant and step out of the line. And then when delivering our food, she just gave us whatever food was in her hand, acknowledged she didn't remember who ordered what, and just couldn't be bothered to ask.

I wouldn't have cared if the server asked us questions if they were unsure. But it was just a whole lot of attitude and assumptions instead of just talking to us like paying customers who would tip based on...

Wow, after reading the reviews i just had to include my input, if you're worried about no masks then simply don't go!! Why would you put yourself in a situation you're not comfortable with THEN complain, its simply asinine. Don't criticize this business because you chose to enter when you DIDNT HAVE TO. (They inform you with an entrance sign masks are a choice to enter) they're following guidlines and have been approved to run their establishment, masks are not required.. sorry but some of these people complaining are just mind boggling. Stay home and complain there! This place is great! Food, service and my hubby loves the beer. The interior is super fun! Don't let these other reviews convince you. Brenda and Bryan are the nicest people. We love supporting their business. Its nice to just sit and look at all they have on display inside and enjoy a drink or enjoy their fish tacos (our favorite).

Sat 22 Oct 2022 (3.5 Stars) Looking for Seafood, since we were at the coast. The "Cannon Balls" (deep fried mushrooms) were the best thing we had at this location. The Chowder was pretty good. The fish and chips were below what we were expecting. Small and not tasty. Staffing was two people, one counter and one cook. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived, but 1/2 to 3/4 full when we left. You order at the counter, pickup at the counter, and bus your own table. The decorations were fitting and nice for the restaurant style and menu. A sign at the cash register said "The restaurant was forvsale."
