Beachcombers — Local services in Long Beach

If you are a tourist using cash at this establishment - this is a PSA to pay attention. My family and I was on vacation at Worldmark in Long Beach and decided to walk the shops on 07/23/25 at 2:35 pm (time of purchase). I happened to find a bucket hat that I wanted that was identical to the one I had that was ruined. The price tag was $19.99 and the cashier (or per user login on the receipt) Julie C. rang it up and said the price was $26.67, so I gave her $27. She gave me $0.33 back, offered to take the tag off for me, and asked if I wanted the receipt. I said to keep it on, so she put everything in a brown paper bag. Immediately when we left I asked my husband if there is a luxury tax because that hat was supposed to be $20. Later that evening I looked at the tag on the hat again, $19.99, and the receipt which said I gave her $22 and had $0.33 change. She is self-tipping by telling customers that the total is more, then trying to cover it up by taking the tag off before you leave the store. And if that wasn't bad enough, this happened to me a second time at a store right next to them in the "Stormin Norman" strip mall- all the while I was thinking I was paying an inflated luxury tax. They take advantage of tourists, as if their prices weren't already inflated, so use a card or keep tabs....

My sister and I just visited this store last week. We were followed around the store given nasty looks and when I bought a ring and earring set for my daughter which totalled $21.88 the cashier used a counterfit checker on my 20 and 2 ones as if I would use fake cash. I honestly don't know if the cashier is racist but the other couple in the store she followed them around as well and they were poc. the summer sun has made me a lot darker then i usually am and she definitely didnt seem to like me. Never ever have I had that experience in all the years visiting long beach from ilwaco. We won't ever come back and I would warn people to pay attention to how you are treated and perhaps...

I originally went here for tanning, which is a great find for in town! Only tanning on the peninsula. So the tanning is an amazing price for monthly use, the lady's are very friendly, kind, and classy. The clothes are so unique, flashy and stylish. You can dress them up or down, some clothes are spendy some are not, just look around. Also, I found an abundance of Rottweiler items, which it is so hard to find Rottie Merch. All in all...
