In general I really like the food from j bbq, the price is reasonable and the meat is good. I go there for dinner with my friends 2-4 times a month. The young servers and the host were nice and spoken fluent English. I always have had good experiences untill tonight with one of the middle-aged female server. She did not speak much of English so it was quit difficult to communicate with her. She gave out the wrong dish and gave us a negative vibe when we said, “Sorry, we didn’t order this.” One of my favorite side dish was mashed potatoes, to me it has a similar taste to the ones from Target or Costco. I take a huge bite and immediately the smell of sourness goes straight to my nostrils. I asked for a second plate but it was the same. It felt like it had been exposed to the room temperature for too long to the point it spoiled. That was when the mid-aged female said, “the chief changed the recipe, so it taste different, it is the sauce not the food . No body has complained about it, you’re the only one,” with a threatened look in her eyes. When I was explaining the situation to the younger server, I was very kind, not trying to further escalate the situation. I just wanted to remind them that the food might not be good to eat, so they can switch it out so that other customers don’t accidentally eat it. All I received from that lady was a lot of complaints and attitude. When we asked for a grill change this same lady was complaining that the grill is still good. Like we don’t know what we are talking about. It was only two of us but they automatically charged for tips. Sometimes, I doubt the fact that does everyone deserves a tip. If employees' tips are flat, is it fair for those servers who serves well? I can understand that everything has its good and its bad. During the whole dinner I treated them with smile and respectful thanked them when they brought our orders. What I do not need is disrespect or any negative attitude in return. Such low-quality service is not worth tipping, and the meaning of tipping should not be like this. Please address the issue and better evaluate the treatment of your costumers.

This place looked lovely and was more affordable than the other places we went to so we decided why not. Bad idea. The employees were sweet and cooked the meat for you and cut it but they would tell us when it was done and when I took a bite it was still super raw. And it was chicken. They crossed pork, beef, chicken, and bulgogi onto one pan and never switched it, while the other place I went to always switched it after every meat and only put one meat at a time. We got a free treat after the meal. It went downhill from there. We visited yesterday and when I got home I had so much diarrhea . I was then up till 5:30am vomiting up everything I ate just to find out I had food poisoning due to cross contamination of meats. Be sure to ask to cook your own meats or ask them to change the pan every so often so that doesn’t happen to you. Overall the food was really good, just happened to have a bad experience.

We have been coming to J BBQ for quiet sometime now. This place has always have great taste. However, after the whole quarantine and the place was reopen again, I can tell you that it has change, to the absolute better!! The prices have increased but so has the variety of meats đŸ„© of each menu. We love it here! We Def recommend it 100%! We came to celebrate my mother's bday and she Looooved it! They sang for her, they took a picture for us and it was truly a great evening. Delicious meats, the servers are attentive and kind. Customer service is 10/10. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you J BBQ for taking care of us. ❀

This was my family’s favorite bbq place .the waiters were really nice and fast , always checking on us and made sure our grill had food . Unfortunately this time was so upsetting we stop coming and we were so excited to come back again . We notice different staffs .which I’m very disappointed on the service except for the very attentive busser ! Thank you sir for checking on us .Funny , the server never came back to check on us and we had a different lady check on us here and there. They took cool 15 minutes to bring my food .I had to get up and ask what was going on? Turns out they forgot to put my order in :( by then we lost our appetite. And there again they did it again . They completely forgot about us we had to ask for refills and it was just so upsetting. No one even came to flip our meats or cut it for us like they use to ! I’m only giving one star because the busser is such a sweet man and was very fast at cleaning tables ! He should be a server since he’s more experienced! Also he cleaned our table after having a spill so yess he deserves a five star! Other than that I’m not happy at all . We usually stay there for 40 minutes but this time we had almost reach our 2 hour max , the server finally remembered we were sitting there and she did not apologize for forgetting about us ! She did not check on us !!she just said our 2 hour max was about to expire , What a joke and she seen I wasn’t happy !!! she offer more meat when my table was already cleaned ! SMH the only reason why I’m coming back is for the buser ! I also seen a lot of people complaining about the service ! We surely miss the previous staff! Won’t be coming here as much sad story of this is most of the people I know come here and they all had bad experience since the new staff came in but I really hope they get better ! I truly miss the...

There is a 2 hour limit, which is reasonable, but make sure that your whole party is there once it starts.

The food is alright, sides were pretty good (standard kimchi, bean sprouts, rice, etc.). You only get 1 soft drink, they are not bottomless like at most other restaurants. You do get water.

Servers will start putting meat on your plate once they notice it's done, which I personally didn't appreciate because I did not want to consume any (I can only eat the veggies & seafood). This meant that food specifically ordered for me went to other people and we had to engage in awkward plate exchanges all night. It is a BBQ place, so I knew what I was getting into, but I would prefer to select my own food for the night. Naturally the grease from the meats gets mixed into everything else all night so everything will probably taste at least a little beef-y.

Portions were okay with the meat but laughable with the veggies and king mushrooms. They gave us 1 onion and 2 king mushrooms when both of those should have enough food to serve at least 4 people (8 total in group).

Atmosphere is okay, place was pretty packed for a Sunday night but it wasn't rowdy. Ended up paying $37.50 each ($30 for dinner meal Plan C, plus group gratuity) but I definitely don't feel like I got to eat $40 worth of food even after stuffing myself with shrimp and baby octopus. Kind of disappointed but my group managed to have fun.

Also, there is valet parking, which is a little weird but maybe to be expected for the area. I didn't personally pay for this but...
