Never in my life have I experienced such awful customer service. I came to Joe's Pizza and bought one of their crappy pizza's, something I regretted the moment I bit into its undesirable crust. But I've had crappy food before and didn't care so long as it filled my stomach and I was treated with any level of decency. No, the reason I was left with not just sore taste buds but an extremely sore taste of this establishment was the treatment I received from the workers, who are inattentive and extremely rude. When I attempted to use the bathroom, they demanded to see my receipt, which I showed and they somehow claimed it wasn't from here, which is ridiculous considering it says JOES PIZZA and has the address and date of the transaction on it. They demanded I show the card I used, which I refused because I considered that completely ludicrous to demand, and left. Who in the world thinks it's okay to treat a customer of your establishment with so much suspicion, contempt, and disrespect? That is no way to run a business, and people should show that to this establishment with their purses and wallets, by refusing to buy products from a place that treats its patrons with so little respect. The food isn't good anyways, so it's not like you'd be missing out on anything. Downtown has so many wonderful restaurants and cafes, including small establishments such as this, but those ones are run by people that care about their customers and are respectful and considerate. That's how you run a business. I certainly won't be back, and will be sure to advise anyone else going to downtown not to come...
Read moreI order two slices of cheese pizza and their salad with chicken. The pizza arrived cold but I could tell that if the pizza was fresh it would have been really really good. I love pizza and I can tell from the way the pizza looks, smells, amount of cheese bs sauce , thickness or how thin if the pizza is good or not (for me). But to be honest people around me trust my choice of pizza and when I say it’s nasty; it’s nasty. However this pizza, even when cold, was ok. I know having it hot would make it great. But I also order a salad . Now the salad I was not happy with. They only offer one dressing which is balsamic vinaigrette but it was too vinegary for me. Which isn’t too bad; the bad part was the lettuce. Idk about anyone else but when I make a salad or want a salad I expect all green leaves. It had yellow leaves in it. Like cutting Romain and using every piece of it. For a business using all parts of a vegetable might be good but the yellow part was horrible and my salad was majorly of the yellow part.
So to summarize my experience:
Pizza was cold but still good.
Salad was nasty and so was the dressing.
I will go back to this place to try the pizza while it is still...
Read moreSometimes you need a slice of NY Pizza...separate from dinner, or any other meal...whatever time it may be...it has to be a slice of legitimate NYC style pizza. Joe's delivers (haha, literally...) on that promise. We stopped in after a concert nearby before public transporting it back to the Santa Clarita Valley which is a wasteland in terms of authentic NYC style pizza.
I got a slice of cheese. That's always the litmus test of a pizza...if they can do the cheese right, they go on the "good list." Joe's is definitely on my good list. The sauce and cheese ratio is perfect. The crust is exactly as thin and crispy as it should be as if you picked it up in any slice shop in the original 5 boroughs.
There's a ton of pizza in L.A. A good percentage of it is great pizza...a smaller percentage of it, despite how it's labeled, is actual, real NYC style pizza. Joe's is one of those places. They've got locations strategically throughout Los Angeles, so if there's a pizza emergency, you might be in good shape. (Please open a spot in Santa Clarita, Joe's...please.)
Try a "grandma slice" if you're...
