Le Champ — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Came here to visit on a random trip down to LA from San Diego. There was a bit of a wait to get seated without having a reservation but the staff acknowledged us and greeted us. We got to sit at the outside patio and Matt got us a heater which was great! We got some starters and got the clams were phenomenal. Honestly super disappointed and we didn’t even get to experience this place. Visiting LA and made reservations 2 weeks ago and we’re super excited to try this spot. Confirmed our reservation yesterday and just took an Uber over there to make it on time. The restaurant was closed — no notification, no cancelled reservation or advanced notice. Food was ok. Steak was ordered medium rare, came out basically well done. Multiple mistakes with the service, including soup course coming out after the mains. All are individually tolerable and we still enjoyed the experience, but given we paid $75 a head I would have expected better. I would not return unless I hear it has improved. 3 stars since it has kind of a startup vibe and I am rooting for them, but it really was not great....
