I visited Naab Restaurant for the first time yesterday and ordered the salad with shawarma. Everything was delicious, but unfortunately I found a small bug in the salad, which ruined the mood a bit. I told the waiter, and he gave me a free Coke and promised a 50% discount next time. Honestly, I didn’t fully believe it, but I came back today and mentioned it to a different waiter — and they honored it without any problem. This time I had the rice with salmon and salad, and the food was absolutely fantastic again.
. . .
I have visited Naab Restaurant several times already. The first time, I found a small bug in my salad. To their credit, the waiter apologized, gave me a free Coke, and promised a 50% discount on my next visit — which they honored, even twice. They even offered me free ice cream once, which I appreciated.
However, on my fourth or fifth visit today, I again found a bug in the exact same type of side salad that comes with the shawarma. I showed the leaf with the bug to the waiter (the one with long hair), but instead of apologizing or showing any concern, he acted as if he didn’t see anything and just said: ‘So what?’ No apology, no acknowledgment, no willingness to pass feedback to the kitchen.
It’s very disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism and respect for customers. I politely asked him to tell the kitchen to wash and check the salad more carefully, but he only gave me a blank, dismissive look.
The food at Naab is usually delicious, but this repeated issue with the salad — and especially the rude reaction from this particular waiter — left me with a very...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience. We were visiting Los Angeles and found Naab Restaurant through Google Maps. Based on the photos, we expected a decent Persian meal. Unfortunately, what we got was far from acceptable.
We ordered two Chicken Barg and one Joojeh Kabab. The first red flag was the Garden Salad, it was clearly old and wilted, with dry cucumbers and limp lettuce. I asked for it to be replaced, and instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff gave the typical dismissive excuse that it’s fresh. How can dried out vegetables be considered fresh? When the main dishes arrived, they were completely bland, absolutely no flavor or seasoning. We barely ate half of our meals and left most of it untouched.
To make matters worse, the service was rude and unprofessional. The person attending to us showed zero hospitality and acted as if we were a burden rather than guests.
And let’s talk about the location. Right outside the restaurant, the entrance area was filled with homeless individuals, and the strong smell of urine made standing near the door extremely unpleasant.
This place is a hard pass. I do not recommend Naab Restaurant to anyone, especially if you’re looking for quality food, good service, or even basic...
Read moreWe found this place based on the excellent reviews and IMO they're well deserved. It was early in the evening and the place wasn't yet filled, so there was time to ask the friendly server for recommendations on the their signature dishes. This made choosing much easier since there were many appealing options.
The Chicken Barg - pounded and grilled chicken breast - was beautifully spiced and cooked, without the dryness often caused by overcooking. We upgraded the rice to the Addas Polo, which included the most delicious blend of rice, lentils, raisins, dates and shallots - this was outstanding. The Lamb Shank was tender in its spicy, flavourful sauce. The serves were very generous and choosing the smallest table meant we quickly ran out of space.
Service was attentive and impeccable - very rare in LA throughout my experience so far. Even the way they brought out take away containers for our leftovers was done so thoughtfully. The simple and elegant decor was very pleasant.
Conclusion: this place is definitely worth returning to and earns...
