There is nothing like food from Peru and Peruvian Bowl offers some great food with the smell and taste of Peru. You will be very happy you went.

The place is on the Venice boardwalk so you will need to park at the end of Washington in the lot for the Venice Pier. Walk for just a bit and you will see Peruvian Bowl housed in a cute super mini mall that looks like a gingerbread house.

The place is kept ever so clean and it is just so cute. It is not huge. We get our bowls to go. It is very small. There is lovely outdoor seating.

The service is great. The staff is fast and friendly. I have not seen it crowed yet, but I bet when summer comes (it is winter as I write) there will be a line to order. the staff knows the food well and can guide you.

All of the bowls are great. All are healthy and made to order from fresh ingredients and all of them will take you on a tiny trip to Peru.

We love the spicy tuna bowl which is made with diced tuna in sesame sauce, mango, cucumber, sliced avocado, scallions, and edamame. The ingredients are dipped in a spicy mayo. The ceviche bowl is my favorite with chunks of fish marinated in a great sauce, mixed with sliced red onions, corn, cilantro, and ‘cancha’ corn. All is served on a mashed sweet potato base.

They also have fantastic sandwiches. The chicharron is a traditional Peruvian pork sandwich and the bread is great. We also love the Butifarra which is a great ham sandwich. All of them are good.

Yummm. As a mostly vegan... You already know I am picky. In fact many have even resorted to calling me Nikki Picky. I asked for a traditional veggie fried rice bowl holding the egg (aka chaufa) but I had to make it sporadic, spontaneous and extra like me by adding in some dried corn kernels and fresh peruvian corn and some yuyo (aka Chondracanthus chamissoi aka mococho aka red algae) into my salsa criolla (red onion salsa). Do not forget the vegan friendly green sauce made of some superb herbs. So fun. They are super flexible here and will cook with whatever oil you bring them for those dietary restricted people because they did so for me. I can't wait to go back for the same thing. Hoping I can go again tomorrow? Hold your seats everyone because as an innovative person myself I hope to collaborate with this astonishing peculiar place to bring more authentic pieces like jackfruit causa, amaranth chaufa, cacao quinoa pudding, lucuma softserve with almond milk base, tempeh saltado, black mushroom ceviche, spicy vegan mayo, and the many other items us health junkies desire and deserve. Also the chicha morada (their purple drink) is totally fire. Cloves? Are you kidding? That's cool... I never liked chicha as a youngster but then this place totally converted me to a chicha lover because their product is so majestic and unique. Im so grateful for it all. Keep improving...
