Candle Cafe & Grill — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I went there today with my husband and kids. Was sat rather quickly had our waitress take our drink order within the first 3 minutes from when we arrived which was great. 10 mins passed after our drink orders were taken so I took my daughter to use the restroom and wash her hands (the door was broken by the way so my daughter and I had to take turns holding the door so no one would walk in on us). When I returned I noticed a tray of drinks in the table in front of us and it just sat there, I also noticed a family getting sat inside and another family getting sat next to us. Then the waitress showed up maybe 10 minutes later and it turned out those drinks were ours. The ice had alrady melted, the soda was flat. She also forgot my husband's soda and straws. She started to take our order when she realized we needed straws so she excused herself to go get some, even though we suggested that the straws could wait. She did not return after that. We noticed both families who got there 15 mins after we did getting their food. It had been at least 50 minutes at this point and our order had yet to be taken. My husband had to go inside to look for her to remind her we were still there and she still took her time to get to us. She never apologized for the inconvenience. The owner passed by several times also and never asked if we needed anything. I would not recommend this place the service was horrible the menu is over priced and the place seriously needs some maintenance. For crying out loud how do u have a woman's restroom...

March 30 2019. HORRIBLE SERVICE My friends and I decided to go to here. One of us ordered a lemonade(3.00), another ordered chicken club(17.00) and I ordered a kids chicken strip meal (10.00). First of all,The bill was thrown at us after asking for it, not a big deal but still. The bill read $40.10 total. We go to pay and ask our waiter (Lakers shirt) to split and he says “not going to happen” and walks away from us. Then we ask the woman who sat us down for help and she says “I only clean tables” and walked away. The man comes back and raises his voice at us when we ask why we can’t all pay separately. He starts to loudly say that we are wasting his time and he is really busy and to figure it out. My friend only had card and no cash so we asked to pay on the card and he said that it would be charged double?? Two of us ended up throwing all the cash we had together just to get out of their because we felt so uncomfortable being yelled at by a grown man when we are only 18 years old. We have never felt so disrespected at an establishment as a polite, paying customer. On top of it all we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity when we were only a party of four. On the menu it says parties of 5 are charged soo that...

We've been in the past. Food isn't good but it's nice to sit and people watch. But after yesterday, we'll never return... We left at 11:30 am (Sunday Nov 6th). The hostess saw our 5 pound dog and said she would need to stay on the outside. I showed her our dog bag and said she'd go inside it. She stared at us. So we repeated it and she scowled. I asked if she speaks English because she acted like she wasn't understanding a word we said. She said 'no' then proceeded to laugh loudly with another employee and spoke English as were were sitting to dine. My husband stood up and said, "let's go." As we walked passed her I ask if she was the hostess. She then asked if I was a person. Yup! As we kept walking she began shouting, "Would you like to talk to the manager ?!! My husband is a 60 year old doctor. We were respectful and pleasant to this person. We live in Culver City. Will NEVER go back there. ..And for her to yell about a manager, it must be because it wouldn't matter to them. What an embarrassing, unprofessional, and rude "hostess."
