I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Waterfront Venice, a restaurant located on the boardwalk in Venice Beach during my vacation. We went on a Saturday night, definitely make a reservation. The place was packed. College aged drinkers all over the entrance, but the restaurant is pretty big and we got a table tucked in one of the back rooms. It was quite lovely. The first thing that caught my attention was the impressive selection of ice-cold beers. It was a great way to beat the summer heat and set the mood for a relaxing meal. Moving on to the food, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. While the menu offered a variety of options, the pretzel was an unexpected standout. It was soft, warm, and perfectly salted, making it a hidden gem worth trying. For my main course, I opted for a burger, while my wife chose the salmon. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The burger was juicy and accompanied by a generous portion of fries. The salmon, on the other hand, was moist and tender, paired with a delicious sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. I must also commend the service we received at The Waterfront Venice. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, The Waterfront Venice offers a delightful dining experience with its refreshing beverages, flavorful food, and attentive service. It is definitely a restaurant worth visiting during a trip to Venice Beach.

Our table service with the server Andrea was top notch, and I definitely recommend making a reservation through the Resy app a few days in advance of when you’d like to go so that you can have table. If you walk up without a reservation, you might end up standing in one of their multiple bar areas - regardless, I recommend sunscreen because it is a combo of indoor and outdoor. You’re paying for the location, and prices reflect the prime beachfront location, hence the name The Waterfront. It’s a great place to meet people if you’re in your twenties and it has a fun party vibe, especially on a sunny day. A few brunch items I recommend sharing include: 🦪 West coast oysters ($32/dozen) with mignonette and lemon. 🌮 Grilled shrimp tacos ($22, served 3 per plate) with cabbage slaw, avocado, and pico. The tacos typically come with chipotle crema and queso fresco, but they can leave these off if you’re lactose intolerant. 🐟 Hamachi crudo ($20) in passionfruit ponzo dressing with sundried orange & Serrano pepper. 🐠 Ahi tuna crudo ($20) in yuzu mustard dressing, topped with crispy shallots. Personally, next time I’ll skip on the chips & guac with charred sweet corn ($15) and order more of the crudo! I also really want to try the açaí bowl ($16) with crunchy nut granola, berries, and banana.

The food was delicious and the vibe here is so relaxing. Great date night restaurant. There is a large area in the back for friends to gather and enjoy the atmosphere. Our server was Rachel B and she was great. There is music playing in the background in the restaurant. We came for brunch and there was bottom mimosas being served. We opted out the brunch menu and bottom mimosas and went for the regular menu. I had the shrimp tacos. There are three tacos 🌮 seasoned without being salty. I ordered the costal margarita which was mix to perfection. The breakfast burrito is large and stuff full of chucks of chicken, avocado🥑, Cheese, and eggs. This restaurant has a non gender bathroom. This is a trendy crowd restaurant. This is on the boardwalk, so make a reservation is advised. This is a very busy and popular restaurant. There is public parking. Parking at the beach, there is a fee.

Witnessed the manager instruct the security guard to intimidate the band playing outside on the boardwalk. The security guard stood less than a foot away from the singer face to face in a blatant attempt to instigate conflict. Support thuggery by patronizing this low class establishment. The word on the street is that The Waterfront paid these musicians to not play in front of the restaurant. March 24 2022 645pm. Craigslist ad from mid March ⚐

As I sip my cup of disappointment, I can't help but lament the unfortunate experience I had at this purported culinary establishment. While initially enticed by the promise of tantalizing flavors, what awaited me was nothing short of a gastronomic catastrophe.

Let's start with the much-vaunted pork nachos, shall we? At first glance, they appeared to be a savory delight, beckoning with their tantalizing aroma. However, upon closer inspection, it became evident that the allure was merely a facade. The pork, if one could even call it that, seemed to be of the lowest quality imaginable, reminiscent of something salvaged from the discard pile behind a butcher's shop. And the cheese? Oh, the cheese. Instead of the rich, creamy goodness one would expect, it exuded a distinctly artificial aura, as if it had been synthesized in a laboratory rather than sourced from nature's bounty. In fact, the only discernible flavor present was that of chemical cheese, a stark reminder of the synthetic nightmare lurking within.

But the horror didn't end there. No, dear reader, it was but the beginning of a culinary descent into madness. Every morsel, every bite, seemed to reaffirm my suspicions that there was nothing natural about these nachos. Each ingredient, if one could call them that, appeared to have undergone a grotesque transformation through the wonders of modern food processing, resulting in a medley of flavors so abhorrent that even my stomach rebelled in protest. Indeed, in the wake of this culinary calamity, I have been plagued by digestive distress for the past twenty-four hours, a cruel reminder of the folly of indulging in such culinary atrocities.

And as if the culinary sins weren't enough, the establishment had the audacity to compound the insult with its abysmal service model. Gone are the days of attentive waitstaff and personalized service; instead, customers are relegated to the role of digital serfs, forced to place their orders through a soulless app. And the cherry on top? A 5% service charge for each and every order, effectively penalizing patrons for their very presence. And let us not forget the additional solicitation for tips upon ordering, a brazen display of greed that would make even the most hardened miser blush with shame.

Yes, the ambiance may be cool, the decor stylish, but such superficial trappings do little to mask the inherent deficiencies of this establishment. In fact, one cannot help but wonder if the food served here would even be deemed suitable for consumption in a refugee camp, such is its utter lack of quality and nutritional value.

In conclusion, dear reader, heed my words and steer clear of this culinary purgatory. For in a world replete with gastronomic delights, there is no excuse for subjecting oneself to such...

The Waterfront Venice is a tricky one to rate because while I enjoy going here both for the food/drinks & the good vibes....it undeniably has VERY bad service.

We stop by The Waterfront often to grab a drink or two and hang out during the weekend, but they also have some really great food options available.

We've tried a few of them here and there over time, and I found most of them to be truly delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced! On a recent visit, for example, we got their Ceviche and the 6 Piece Fried Chicken Bucket. Both of them were SO yummy and the big pieces of chicken that literally came in a KFC-style bucket left us with extra to bring home as leftovers.

Back to the service, however.....the whole time we were trying to dine and enjoy our food, servers kept coming over and asking if either if we had been seated by a host or if we had paid yet or not....MULTIPLE TIMES. It was a definite detraction from trying to enjoy eating there....communication lines definitely need to be smoothed out. Also, the service just in general was off-putting and rude, with the waitress seeming very short tempered and irritable with us while taking our order initially.

And if you're coming here just for a drink or two, GOOD LUCK getting the attention of the bartenders. They'll literally stand around either on their phone or chatting/flirting with some girls while there's a WHOLE LINE of people trying to order drinks.

There's often DJ's or bands here for live music during the weekends, which I enjoy going to sometimes..just keep in mind that it gets QUITE packed, which also makes it even harder to order from the very slow service here.

Overall, The Waterfront is a fun spot to hang out at with solid, generously portioned food. Some people love it, while others likely feel...
