New to the area, took a friend to The Firehouse. I figured it’s been in town for 26 years.. should be good. WRONG! First clue was, all of Main Street Restaurants were packed! Firehouse was empty on a Friday Night. I should of saw the red flags. We ordered the Chicken Wings to Start. We got about 8 tiny wings. They weren’t bad. But they weren’t very good. I asked for a cucumber martini and the waiter asked if I would like to try Tequila instead of gin, I said sure. It was mediocre at best. My friend ordered some fruity drink that had more fruit than alcohol. Not good. We ordered a pizza to share..This was was things got bad. The pizza had 4 slices. It looked like a pizza from the frozen food section of the supermarket and it tasted worse than that. The crust and cheese was baked but the toppings were raw and not cooked. The sausage they used looked like processed meat. It was gray. We told our server, who said it was because the cheese we ordered did not mix well with the toppings? What? Ok.. he took it back and I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and my friend had a BLT and Parmesan Fries. And she ordered a Angry Orchard And I a Diet Coke. The meal was not good, but we ate it. Then the bill came. They charged me 5 dollars for my cucumber drink and an additional 8 dollars for the adding tequila instead of gin. What??? Weird. The total bill was 92 dollars for 2 alcohol drinks 1 Diet Coke Cheeseburger and Fries BLT and Parmesan fries 8 chicken wings
What!!! 90 something dollars.. INSANE ! With no apologies about the horrible pizza. Or offering of a discount. I am in no way cheap! And I will spend money on a good dinner. I like to support local business, but come on! 90 dollars? This was a rip off.
To be fair, I didn’t really look at the prices, but I figured how much can a cheeseburger and fries cost? BLT Sandwich and a couple of drinks with an appetizer? Lesson Learned. We still tipped the waiter well, as he’s not the one cooking our food. Never again. The food is not...

Food was ok, and the bus boy was really nice. When I received the check however I showed my military ID to the server and Said “I don’t know if you give military discounts or not but if you do here’s my ID”. I wasn’t pushy and wouldn’t have had an issue if the server just said no, but he loudly announced that they only give discounts to police officers and fireman as he walked away. The way he handled it was very rude. This restaurant needs to better understand the sacrifices their veterans made to provide them the secure country they have to open their business. I don’t inquire about a military discount often, but when I do I assure you that I more than earned the right to ask. It’s great they honor their local public service, they should because they deserve it.. but as a combat engineer, all I’ve done in theater was dismounted route clearance. I’m not going to explain what that entailed, cause frankly this establishment doesn’t care anyway, what I will say is it’s an utter insault to just turn your back to me, walk away, and shout that you only honor fire and police man. You’ve never pulled screaming Soldiers from a mangled vehicle, you’ve never had someone look at you in shock and tell you they lost their legs, and you’ve never used a non metallic probe to find an IED cause service members like myself did for you. So have a little respect. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE IN THE MILITARY! I ask you to veto this establishment and LOOK AT...
Read moreDiner is misleading, this is not a diner, but rather a bar that also serves food. The center of the restaurant is a very large bar that gets quite popular during certain games that are always playing on one of the many TVs. They have a few booths and tables surrounding this bar, and they have some outdoor seating as well. Our service was actually really great because our server was really polite and very attentive, but that was one of the best parts of our meal. They don’t have a parking lot so it will be street parking. My main issue with the meal was the price, everything is just overpriced, especially for the quality.
The menu is fairly limited, but they do have some good options on it. I chose the Eggs Benedict for my meal and added avocado and thought it was just OK. The eggs were very runny and the hashbrowns tasted more like home fries and the hollandaise didn’t really taste homemade but more like something out of a can. The prices of everything were just too much and should be stepped down.
Overall I would not suggest because of the price and lack of special flavors. It was just not a memorable meal. I do like the location because I am a fan of Venice, but I don’t plan to be back for...
