Coming from Australia and a Doors fan from back in my teens it really was great to see the mural of Jim on this apartment block. It’s where he lived and met Ray Manzarek (The Doors keyboardist) on Venice Beach in July 1965. They recognized each other as they had both attended the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television

it’s exactly what you expect. just something to note if you plan on going at night there are some homeless people around in my case a man was sleeping directly under the mural.

I had higher expectations. It looks exactly as depicted, but seeing as it was in a tight alley, it was a little difficult to appreciate it in all its grandeur. Other than that, the walk is lovely along the beach with plenty of alleys...
