Stout Burgers & Beers — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Used to be regular attendees of the Studio City location. Unfortunately, the owners stopped caring about all of their locations, shut down quite a few with little notice to the staff (like a week before Christmas, mind you), and have clearly started hiring bad staff.

Normally, we don't use DoorDash for Stout, but it's been a horrible day and driving felt like a nightmare. Burger they actually sent us tonight was COMPLETELY RAW. Since my partner and I were eating in the dark, he didn't realize it was until it was nearly finished. What is pictured is the OUTSIDE RIM of the burger. Totally raw. He's been vomiting for 15 minutes now profusely.

Since we ordered through DoorDash we knew that we would need to get a refund through the app. However, we wanted to call and let them know to tell their kitchen staff what happened. The server who answered was great, and got the manager for us. When we explained to the manager, we didn't mention a refund, and with no apology she starts explaining to my partner with an attitude that if we want a refund we need to get it through DoorDash and acted like they had nothing to do with anything. Something about "well if it's not cooked to your liking". I'm sorry, that's a health hazard, not a preference. My partner was being super calm, and I was reasonably speaking up in the background about how it is dangerous to serve completely red-raw meat, and she said something like "Well, all I hear is two people screaming at me." If one person talking sternly, but not even yelling let alone screaming, and one calmly when you're in a loud restaurant and have asked my partner to repeat himself multiple times is "screaming", you're unbelievably sensitive and you shouldn't be working in food service industry. I've never been chastised for complaining about being served completely raw food that made my partner throw up. All we wanted was for the message to be passed on to the kitchen or possibly have it be brought up at a staff meeting on how it can be avoided, and what we got was a snarky manager hung up on a refund we never asked for. Just so you know, that refund was $5 on a $70 order. The burger itself was $20.

No wonder the burger was sent out raw and the other locations are shutting down. Ownership is a nightmare if they're refusing to pay taxes, firing the incredible Studio City staff, and letting this attitude-filled person manage one of their last locations. Rest in peace the good food of Los Angeles. If y'all are gonna give me some snarky reply trying to save yourselves, I don't want it. You already lost...

Review for Stout Burgers and Beers 🍔🍺 I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stout Burgers and Beers, and it was such a memorable experience! We decided to sit on the patio where the warm sun felt fantastic, really giving me that beachy vibe. To start, I enjoyed both the Evans Brewery Honey Blonde and the Con Amor Amber Ale throughout the meal. The Honey Blonde was refreshingly crisp, setting a perfect tone for the day. When it came time for the main course, I paired my Low and Slow Burger with the Con Amor Amber Ale. The malty sweetness of the amber ale complemented the BBQ sauce on the chicken patty wonderfully, enhancing the flavors of the burger and adding depth to every bite. Speaking of the burger, it was absolutely divine! The Low and Slow Burger featured a juicy chicken patty topped with flavorful BBQ sauce that had just the right amount of tang. Each bite was so satisfying, and I loved how the ale brought out the smoky notes of the BBQ sauce perfectly. Before my main course, we shared appetizers of onion rings and sweet potato fries. The onion rings were possibly the best I've ever had—crispy and perfectly cooked without a hint of sliminess. Even the sweet potato fries, which I usually don’t enjoy, were delicious and surprisingly flavorful. Overall, Stout Burgers and Beers exceeded my expectations with its fantastic food, refreshing drinks, and inviting atmosphere. I was in the area for a screening at the nearby LA Film School and consulted the Yelp app for where I might grab a bite. A grastropub with high marks--count me in! Sure, gastropubs are a dime-a-dozen these days; it takes a little something extra to rise above the rest and Stout delivered for me: excellent food, service and ambience (upscale-ish casual with no attitude)--it was the total package that evening! Yes it can be a bit pricey, but I didn't mind so much because I had such a good experience. It was around 6pm so there was plenty of seating so I bellied up to the bar and perused their exclusive craft beer list. "We Saw Them Coming," a watermelon saison by Three Weav3rs Brewing Co caught my eye, and I ordered a Stout burger to accompany it (Blue Cheese, Emi Gruyere, Rosemary Bacon, Caramelized Onion, Horseradish Cream, Roasted Tomatoes). The beer was light and refreshing, with just a tiny hint of watermelon, and the burger was...AMAZING. Wow, so juicy, rich and good--I gobbled that thing down in a flash. Their patties come medium-cooked by default and to me it was perfect. All their sides are a la carte so I decided to forgo the fries and get another beer instead--Oneida from Modern Times beer (another great American Pale Ale). I forget the name of the bartender but he was really cool; jovial, helpful and very efficient. I was in and out of there in like 30 minutes.
