The customer service is terrible. The heavy set young girl working at the cash register needs some customer service training. She tried to get crazy with me simply because the credit card machine was asking me to enter a pin number. In spite of the fact that I have the pin, she said that the machine does not accept pins, which is utterly absurd. That is an ignorant way to run a business for the simple reason that that additional security measure is there to protect customes from fraud. There was no logic to her argument, and she was making no sense at all. Her temper got the best of her and she started being defensive and argumentative as a result. I can tell from the look on the other employees' faces, that they were looking at her as if she was mad and unintelligent. It would be very easy for me to understand if I was in the wrong here. Nevertheless, in this particular case she was in the wrong, and also refused to acknowledge that fact. In my opinion, she is a terrible employee and needs to be retrained.
And on top of that! My breakfast order was given to the wrong person and I again had to wait another 15 minutes for my food. To make matters even worse, they get mad at the customer for mistakes they make.
There is really a need for someone to take a look at the employees at this business and...
Read moreHad my first Winchell's experience, finally! I ordered through PostMates I purchased two breakfast sandwiches ($3+ ea.) and a dozen donuts ($9). I did not select the donuts, but instead, requested that the employee select a variety. They did, and they did a fantastic job!!
Ok ok, the donuts are certainly NOT a Randy's donut... or something you would find from one of those hipster places... but they were donuts. Satisfying.
The breakfast sandwiches were decent! Ham, Egg, and cheese on a bagel. Was it the most amazing thing I've had in my life? No. But, good for 1:30am? Absolutely.
Speedy delivery. Friendly driver. Quick.
My only complaint is that PostMates is expensive. Two Breakfast sandwiches cost $3/+change/ea., the doizen donuts were $9. = $16... + tax + Service Fee + Cart Fee (or something like that) + Delivery ($5.99) added up to about $30. I found a coupon for free delivery, but wow... For what I got? Not sure I would get it delivered again LOL. But... solid option for my fellow...
Read moreI never knew until today that it was even possible to make a bad doughnut, but that's exactly what Winchell's was serving. At 7:45 am this morning, I walked into the Winchell's Donut House on Vine in Hollywood. The doughnuts were all lined up in a row behind the glass like they're suppose to be, but while waiting for my turn, I noticed the tops of the donuts were not glistening like they should if they had just been dipped. Instead, the toppings looked stiff and many were cracking. However, I was in denial because I was really looking forward to a "warm n fresh donut" like they advertise. I bought five doughnuts (a maple bar, old-fashioned, glazed buttermilk, apple fritter, and a crumb) and unfortunately, none of them were warm and all of them were stale. On top of that, they weren't even flavorful. It was a major let down. At least the young woman helping me...
