I don’t know if the staff wasn’t ready to come to work today this place hardly had any donuts available, it was pretty depressing. Luckily, I was just dropping my for an iced coffee and lemonade before a long drive but I was pretty disappointed that I didn’t have many snack options. The staff was friendly and polite but moved at slo-mo Matrix speeds. Note, they had enough staff members to run the place efficiently but some members chose to be lazy or lacked a pep in their step. Several college students and fellow Gen-Zers walked out. I wanted to leave too because we waited a good almost 20 mins but it was late and didn’t want to drive around all over Hollywood for an iced coffee. Some of the older patrons were totally obnoxious so just be warned you may leave with a headache lol.

This Winchell's is in a small strip mall right on Vine Street in Hollywood. It is super easy to find a place to park and it is free. Both the exterior and interior of this Winchell's is spotless. You can tell that whoever is working there at the time takes pride in the presentation of this great donut shop. The service is wonderful and there are a few places to eat inside or just grab a dozen and take them with you. All of the donuts we had were fresh and ever so tasty. The prices are reasonable and they also have sandwiches and breakfast items. This was our first time at this Winchell's and it was great. Have fun.

I ordered a French vanilla chilla, but it had coffee in it. I tried to exchange it, but the server wouldn't, even though the menu in the store didn't say it was a French vanilla cappuccino but just French vanilla under the chilla. Also, we asked for 2 two lemon filled donuts, but he gave us one and a chocolate covered custard filled donut. Then he said something about us in Spanish to another Spanish speaking customer. The language barrier was the reason why my donut order was not correct. I was asking if the lemon filling was custard, not that I wanted a custard filled donut. He just said yes when I asked.

The customer service is terrible. The heavy set young girl working at the cash register needs some customer service training. She tried to get crazy with me simply because the credit card machine was asking me to enter a pin number. In spite of the fact that I have the pin, she said that the machine does not accept pins, which is utterly absurd. That is an ignorant way to run a business for the simple reason that that additional security measure is there to protect customes from fraud. There was no logic to her argument, and she was making no sense at all. Her temper got the best of her and she started being defensive and argumentative as a result. I can tell from the look on the other employees' faces, that they were looking at her as if she was mad and unintelligent. It would be very easy for me to understand if I was in the wrong here. Nevertheless, in this particular case she was in the wrong, and also refused to acknowledge that fact. In my opinion, she is a terrible employee and needs to be retrained.

And on top of that! My breakfast order was given to the wrong person and I again had to wait another 15 minutes for my food. To make matters even worse, they get mad at the customer for mistakes they make.

There is really a need for someone to take a look at the employees at this business and...

Had my first Winchell's experience, finally! I ordered through PostMates I purchased two breakfast sandwiches ($3+ ea.) and a dozen donuts ($9). I did not select the donuts, but instead, requested that the employee select a variety. They did, and they did a fantastic job!!

Ok ok, the donuts are certainly NOT a Randy's donut... or something you would find from one of those hipster places... but they were donuts. Satisfying.

The breakfast sandwiches were decent! Ham, Egg, and cheese on a bagel. Was it the most amazing thing I've had in my life? No. But, good for 1:30am? Absolutely.

Speedy delivery. Friendly driver. Quick.

My only complaint is that PostMates is expensive. Two Breakfast sandwiches cost $3/+change/ea., the doizen donuts were $9. = $16... + tax + Service Fee + Cart Fee (or something like that) + Delivery ($5.99) added up to about $30. I found a coupon for free delivery, but wow... For what I got? Not sure I would get it delivered again LOL. But... solid option for my fellow...

I never knew until today that it was even possible to make a bad doughnut, but that's exactly what Winchell's was serving. At 7:45 am this morning, I walked into the Winchell's Donut House on Vine in Hollywood. The doughnuts were all lined up in a row behind the glass like they're suppose to be, but while waiting for my turn, I noticed the tops of the donuts were not glistening like they should if they had just been dipped. Instead, the toppings looked stiff and many were cracking. However, I was in denial because I was really looking forward to a "warm n fresh donut" like they advertise. I bought five doughnuts (a maple bar, old-fashioned, glazed buttermilk, apple fritter, and a crumb) and unfortunately, none of them were warm and all of them were stale. On top of that, they weren't even flavorful. It was a major let down. At least the young woman helping me...
