We stopped here for dinner and the food here was awful. As you can see from the photos they gave us food that had been previously made and reheated. We ordered for the five of us and two of the meals were not what we ordered and then the waitress said, "Oh that must be why the other table said their order was wrong.". They gave them our food. The food served that was correct was barely passable as warm and the sizzling fajitas had no sizzle at all. They forget the tortillas for two meals also. Overall it was a terrible experience. The restaurant's lighting is awful and makes reading the menus difficult. I don't think there was even a manager there. They made no effort to apologize for their mistake only to not charge us for the 2 meals they never delivered. We didn't even touch the ones they left. The cheese dip was awful too and tasted like Velveeta cheese with onions and tomatoes. Carlos O'Kelly's used to be a great place to dine, personally we will never return again.

This is a mixed review. First time coming here. I ordered a salad "Saladilla" if I'm spelling that correctly, and my wife ordered a beef burrito that at the moment she doesn't remember the name. My salad was spectacular, the best I tasted while in Kansas. The burrito on the other hand was the complete opposite. The sides were rice and refried beans, and my wife was completely appauled that she lost her appetite. I tried the beef, it was flavorless, and the refried beans that I concur tasted utterly disgusting, and the rice had soggy cilantro, with soggy rice. My prediction it was made three days ago, but the manager informed us a day ago. Rice can be extremely peticular in maintaining its flavor and taste over time. Sadly to say, this dish was requested from our waiter. I don't recommend a 50/50 suggestion. Move on to your next restaurant option.

Overall average experience with ok service and average food. We had to move tables as they stuck is in a corner with a very cold window breeze and even the waitress questioned why they sit anyone there. Once settled in to a warmer spot we had ok service; however, the food wasn't great like it used to be at the carlos locations. The queso came out barely warm and they didn't provide a spoon to serve it or plates to share. The main courses were just ok with a few of them not very warm as it appeared for our 5 person table they didn't coordinate the cooking right. The margaritas were on special for $5 which seemed like a good deal until you realized they were essentially margarita mix and you couldn't even taste tequila so not sure there was any at all.

I came here because the name intrigued me. It was President’s Day. The place was busy but not packed. As I walked in I noticed a family sitting l, waiting to be seated and there wasn’t a host at the desk. No worries, I’m alone, so I head to the bar. I’m greeted immediately upon arriving at my chosen seat. I order a beer and look over the menu. I decide on the enchiladas San Carlos with cilantro lime rice and black beans. As I’m waiting for my food, which seemed to be unusually long for a Tex-Mex place (this is good in my opinion), I look around. First thing I notice. The TVs above the bar. Waaaay above the bar! I had to snap my neck to get it to allow me to watch them. I would lower those TVs for better viewing. I also noticed that the servers were hopping and popping, definitely not your high school student more worries about their text messages. I also notice a family walk in and wait a considerable amount of time before they were greeted by someone. Hint hint, maybe have a dedicated host/hostess, instead of relying on the servers as they are busy. The bartender brings my food out. Mistakes were made...wrong buttons were pushed. He is the one that noticed the mistake. He takes the plate back. No worries, mistakes happen. When my food finally comes out, I notice the enchiladas seem on the small side. Maybe they are telling me something?! I dig in and I am very surprised! The food tastes great regardless of the size. After finishing, I realized it’s a good thing the serving size is the way it is. Knowing that now though is a bad thing, because knowing it’s good I might be tempted to order two for myself and struggle through the second plate. The price might be the only thing that would keep that in check. My thoughts? I’d come back for sure. Oh, because of the mistake, the bartender knocked off a bit of the price...I wonder if I could pull that off again...

Went to this restaurant last week with my Son, DIL and Grandson. Seemed okay at first, a little slow on the service but that was understandable due to what has been going on. We ordered drinks and queso while I waited for Son and DIL, as I had been babysitting grandson that day. The waitress was pleasant, grandson ordered, I told her I would wait until we were all ready. Son and DIL came in, we ordered, sat there talking, etc. I noticed that the food was on the counter (I was sitting looking into the kitchen) and I had not seen our waitress in a while, our drinks were empty, and it just seemed like she was not around. The food sat there, I kid you not, for at least 10 minutes, if not 15. I asked to speak to a manager, and I explained what had happened and my concerns. She told me that there is NO Way the food had sat there that long, that she had just been out 5 minutes ago and there had been no food, and that I must be mistaken. I will tell you at this point I shut down, because she just went overboard on telling me I was wrong, accusing me of lying without actually saying the word.

The food was delivered, two of us had Fajitas, one shrimp, one Chicken, my son had a Sancho and my Grandson had a taco meal. The guacamole served with the fajitas had chunks of unripe avocado in it, my DIL said it was hard and she had to mash her guac to see if there was more, which there was. The taco meal was cool, my grandson didn't like it, and the sancho was also cool. The cheese on the fajita plates were two different kinds? One (the shrimp) was white and the other (the chicken) was cheddar.

All in all, while I have liked this place in the past, it just seems to not be ready to open and serve customers as much...

I had gotten called in unexpectedly to work and on my way home decided to get a taco pack which I've always found to be a good deal. I usually get hard shell beef tacos and I think you get 12 of those and then two pint-size sides which honestly aren't quite enough but I usually get the cilantro lime rice and black beans and then I get an additional pint of queso. So that's what I got this time. On the whole I have found their service has been very good. Everyone is polite and interested in helping. The quality of the food is mostly fine. I did have one experience where I didn't get any of the fixings for the tacos in the order and they made it right with me. I will say though that one experience that I have over and over is that the lettuce is never really that great of quality. It's like shredded iceberg lettuce and it's always just dying on my doorstep when I get it to my house and then it's no good for leftovers. I would love it if they would pack it separately from the cheese and tomatoes because it spoils so quickly and shredded lettuce just does. But I would also like for them to look into some other options of something that might be more durable. It's disappointing to have to throw all of that away because the lettuce gets all mixed into everything even before you get it home and then there is no way to save the other fixins. Other than that, I have enjoyed their service and the convenience and for the most part the food's been pretty decent. I think it's worth the...
